New APF Plate Compactors Lessen Vibration to Operators

Ammann’s latest line of APF forward-moving vibratory plates will be presented at Bauma 2016. The machines represent substantial new efforts to send compaction energy toward the ground materials and away from the operator.

All the compactors in the new APF line feature Ammann’s patent-pending Z-shaped tow bar mountings, which isolates the guiding hands from vibration and reduces operator fatigue. The Z-mountings is the key reason operator vibration levels for Ammann compactors are substantially below the regulations, even in the strictest countries.

The new line consists of the APF 11/33, APF 14/40, APF 14/50 and the APF 20/50. All compactors deliver a substantially improved performance and are powered by Honda petrol engines. The largest machine of this new series, the APF 20/50 is additional available in a version with a Hatz Diesel engine.

In addition to reducing vibration to the operator, the new APF line is user friendly so users of all experience levels can be productive immediately. The plates also feature a robust cover that protects all sides of the engine, as well as critical components such as the tank or air filter, while the machine is at work and during transport.

Easily added options make the machines even more versatile. Proof to this is a newly developed, wear resistant elastomer mat to protect paving stones during compaction, which is easily mounted on site.

A water tank can be added that fits within the machine frame for optimal fitting and protection. The tank and accompanying water spray system continuously distribute water to prevent fresh laid material from sticking to the compactor, making the APF an ideal fit also on asphalt applications.
