New Holland launches new top-of-the-range skid steer loader and compact track loader at Bauma 2013

New Holland will launch at the Bauma 2013 exhibition the new L230 skid steer loader and C238 compact track loader. The two models maintain the compact dimensions of their predecessors while delivering more rated operating capacity, more horse power, more torque and more hydraulic power:

• More pushing power with 90 hp turbocharged engine
• Fast cycles with more hydraulic power and perfect balance

• Best-in-class dump height and reach with New Holland’s patented SuperBoom®
• Superior all round visibility with ample side windows and low threshold, while maintaining the same compact dimensions as the current top of the range models, L225 and C232.

Outstanding performance, compact dimensions
The L230 and C238, which replace the L225 and C232, feature a 90hp turbocharged Stage IIIA engine to compete in the high-end segment of the market. The FPT engine delivers outstanding torque of 340 Nm at a low engine speed of only 1,400 rpm, making immediately available more pushing power and saving fuel, as well as enhancing operator comfort.

The high engine and hydraulic power combined with the machine’s perfect balance mean that the L230 and C238 can mount large buckets of up to 0.58 m2 capacity to complete the jobs faster.

The exceptional fuel efficiency and large 96,5 litre fuel tank give the L230 and C238 great autonomy and they can easily run for 8 to 10 hours without refuelling.

Impressive hydraulic power
The new L230 and C238 offer the optional “Enhanced High Flow” Package which bundles several productivity boosting features. With this option, the pressure of the auxiliary hydraulic system is increased by 70 bar to 277 bar. Combined with the high 131 litre oil flow, the increased pressure provides outstanding hydraulic power. The Enhanced High Flow Package also includes the Glide Ride boom suspension that brings faster cycles and more comfortable travel; the self-levelling bucket that remains parallel to the ground when raising the boom, minimising material spillage and increasing precision when positioning a pallet; the Electric Multifunction to control the attachments that require electric connections; a second auxiliary circuit that enables simultaneous movements of the attachment, for example rotation and transversal translation of large cold planers.

The high engine and hydraulic power makes these machines particularly effective in applications with demanding hydraulic-powered attachments such as large cold planers, mulchers and hammers.

Best-in-class dump height and reach with patented SuperBoom
The L230 and C238 feature New Holland’s unique vertical lift SuperBoom that enables operators to load material right up to the centre of the truck bed, so that the it can be loaded much faster from one side. The best-in-class 55-degree dump angle on both models enables operators to empty the bucket faster, increasing cycle times and productivity. The boom geometry and linkage points combined with a long wheelbase of 1,322 mm and low centre of gravity result in exceptional stability, so that the operator can work with confidence at their most productive.

The boom leans directly onto the chassis of the machine improving digging efficiency, while the outstanding bucket breakout force of 38.2 kN enables operators to tackle the toughest jobs.

Superior visibility
The large side windows on the L230 and C238 provide excellent visibility all round the machine, improving safety and efficiency. The low threshold gives the operator unobstructed view of the cutting edge of the bucket or on the attachment. The SuperBoom design guarantees superior visibility to the rear with an unobstructed view, unlike most competitor models.
