New models, new radio controls and new Fassi system “Internet Of Cranes” (IOC)

Several new products will be displayed at the Bauma. As for new crane models, there will three “light” cranes, two models belonging to the middle range and three to the heavy range, among which the new flagship crane F2150RAL. Then new radio controls with colour display “V7” and, last but not least, the Fassi system “Internet Of Crane” (IOC)

Fassi Gru F2150RA/RAL

The crane market is demanding models with increasingly high performance and Fassi Gru has responded promptly by presenting the new top of the range model F2150RA/RAL, a direct evolution from the F1950RA/RAL.

The new crane brings all the experience and technical solutions of the popular model from which it is derived and with the addition of the well-established XP ‘extra power’ system, it moves up to a higher lifting class. In fact, the lifting performance is increased by about 10% in the RA version and by up to 16% in the RAL compared to the F1950

The new model will make its world premiere at Bauma 2016.

A new model among the XHE cranes

The new model F710RA joins the crane models offered in the XHE configuration, that means F1550RA, F1350RA, F990RA, F820RA.

Fassi Gru F545RA xe-dynamic

A completely new machine, designed to enhance Fassi’s range of high capacity cranes, the F545RA xe-dynamic is added to the XE series, between the larger F560RA he-dynamic and the smaller F485RA xe-dynamic, but with a significantly increased performance and power-to-weight ratio.

With this new model, Fassi achieves the objective of producing a true 50 tonne/metre class crane with dimensions that are compact enough for installation on a three-axle chassis.

The footprint of the machine has been increased by just 85 mm, therefore maintaining the compact size of the F485RA model. It weighs just 3%, but is 10% stronger thanks to stabilisers that extend to 7.8 metres for challenging lifts. It has a maximum load moment of 53 tm (518 kNm), and a maximum hydraulic reach of 20.80 m. This becomes 24.90 m in the version with eight booms plus manual extensions.

The new F545RA is a continuous rotation crane with the option of a double gear motor. It is supplied as standard with the proven FX500 control system, the D850 hydraulic distributor, the Fassi RCH/RCS radio remote control and the FSC-S or H stability control. Several versions are available with up to eight hydraulic extensions. To further increase the working area, there are also various job combinations to meet every need.

Characteristics of the Fassi Gru F545RA xe-dynamic

  • Load moment capacity: up to 51 tm

  • Hydraulic reach: up to 30 m with jib

  • Dimensions: w 2.50 m, l 1.45 m, h 2.50 m

  • Continuous rotation on a fifth wheel

Electronic/hydraulic equipment:

  • FX500 control unit

  • D850 digital hydraulic distributor

  • RCH/RCS radio control

  • ADC automatic dynamic control

  • Flow sharing

  • XP system

Two new models offered in the XE configuration

The models F305A and F255A of the middle range enrich the XE series and will be displayed at the Bauma among the new products.

Fassi Gru F65B and F70B

Fassi Crane does not neglect the “small” crane market and offers two new models in this segment, the F65B and F70B, with the connecting rod and fork on the secondary arm, both with decidedly modest weights compared other crane son the market in the 6-7 tm class. The use of ultra-high strength (UHS) steels has made significant weight reduction possible (9% reduction compared to the previous F65A.0 model). This means more residual load capacity for the vehicles on which they will be installed. In addition, the new linkage design of the main and secondary joints has led to a 9% increase in hydraulic reach compared to the previous model, with a significant increase in the working area.

Great attention has also been paid to optimising the dimensions: the distributor is housed vertically on the crossbar and the oil tank is more compact for an overall slimmer structure.

To simplify maintenance when changing the configuration of the stabiliser crossbars, and eliminate the need for any welding work, the hydraulic extensions have been designed on a modular basis.

The F65B comes with the FX500 control system and in the e-dynamic version with the Fassi RCH/RCS radio remote control. For all the models, there are four base versions that can be fitted with a maximum of four hydraulic extensions.

The addition of the XP ‘extra power’ system turns the F65B into the superior lifting F70B.

Fassi crane model F40B

The renewal of the light crane range has been completed with the new crane F40B, whose size is extremely compact and the ratio weight/power is very performing. The high quality construction is a feature of this model and it’s granted by the structural cast components and by the use of ultra-high strength steel. This is the ideal model to be mounted on light vehicles until 3.5 ton GVW. Fassi has foreseen 4 versions: 21, .22, .23,.24

Features of Fassi crane F40B.0 active:

New “Internet Of Cranes” developed by Fassi

The so called “Internet Of Things” is internationally one of the most important development and innovation trends; it’s changing and will change more and more the relationship between mankind and products, as well as the relationship dynamics between products and communication systems. This is a technology that Fassi has been developing for a long time with a project that has now life breathed into it. It’s the project “IOC- Internet of Cranes” enabling an approach and a revolutionary experience in the dialogue between user and crane thanks to the web.

Fassi "IOC" system allows some functions such as:

  • Instantaneous localization of crane and its status (active/inactive)

  • Real-rime diagnostics

  • Analysis of crane reliability

  • Predictive maintenance

  • Analysis of crane use

  • Monitoring of the residual life

  • Software updating

This is an innovation allowing an improvement and an enrichment of the crane use experience with some web applications making the relationship between users and Fassi cranes by far deeper, more immediate and more intuitive.
