Over 200 Sany Excavators Used in Southern China Flood Relief

Sany has mobilized more than 200 excavators, 600 service engineers, volunteering dealers and customers to join in the flood relief efforts across multiple provinces currently affected by flooding in southern China.

More than 1,000 counties in Hubei, Anhui, Hunan, Jiangsu, and Jiangxi provinces have suffered serious damage to local farmland, roads, houses, and dams from the recent floods. Sany rescue teams equipped with excavators, cranes and other heavy machinery are now busy assisting with relief efforts in the flooded areas.

Sany excavators including converted high reach excavators played a key role in the time-sensitive rescue, and were widely used to clear roads and barrier lakes, rebuild dams, and assist with post-disaster building.

Sany remains committed to assisting communities in rescue efforts and disaster relief, both locally and globally. It has previously contributed rescue equipment and technical assistance during the 2011 Chilean mine rescue, the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and the 2016 Chinese Yangcheng tornado relief — continuing with its business ethos of service.

A closer look at the relief efforts across the region.

Hubei Province

Rescue team: Sany Heavy Industry along with Sany's Wuhan dealer Jiuzhoulong
Equipment: More than 20 hydraulic excavators, hydraulic breakers and spare parts
Relief: Sany excavators were used to build a temporary bridge to transfer Shunhe town villagers away from the overflowing dam. Sany high reach excavators were also used to clear roads and consolidate the river bank.

Anhui Province

Rescue Team: Sany Heavy Industry and Sany's Hefei dealer Xiangyuan
Equipment: 8 large excavators 
Relief: 3 Sany excavators were used to connect the emergency road from Gubei town to Tiantangzhai town in Jinzhai. More than 10 rescue members, equipped with 5 Sany excavators built a new embankment after the break of Nanfeihe River in Dianbu, Feidong.

Hunan Province

Rescue team: Sany Heavy Industry, Sany's Hunan dealer Zhongwang, and volunteering customers
Equipment: Several large excavators 
Relief: Sany excavators were used to build the river bank in flooded Longguangqiao, Yiyang. They were also used in the landslide relief in Xinquan, Yueyang and saved a person buried after the landslide at Weishan, Ningxiang.

Jiangsu Province

Rescue team: Sany Heavy Industry and volunteering customers 
Equipment: 8 excavators
Relief: Four customers who purchased Sany excavators mobilized a rescue team of over 10 volunteers with 8 excavators to join in the flood relief in Liyang, Jiangsu. At present, the team members are building up river banks and dredging multiple blocked rivers across the area.
