PILOSIO AT BAUMA: WORLDWIDE SOLUTIONS

MUNICH, APRIL 15—21, 2013 – A new and vast range of products, new generation software to aid the work flows both in the design stage and on the building site, an international award that links the construction sector to culture but, above all, a "new way of thinking" that is positioning the company among the big world players in the temporary structures market.

These four points summarise the participation at the Bauma trade fair in Munich (North exhibition area, F10/N1020/1) of Pilosio, the leading Italian company in the production of formwork and scaffolding for the world of construction, industrial maintenance and restoration.  For Pilosio, after more than 50 years in business, the 2013 edition of Bauma is a real watershed to demonstrate to market operators from all over the world the sea change in approach and structure by the company, now able to act as the perfect partner for major international construction businesses that do not only need a supplier of temporary structures but also a consultant, able to resolve the most complex problems, from the design stage to the building site.

Crowning this new corporate strategy is the announcement of a very important order, secured right on the eve of Bauma, to supply the temporary structures (Magnum Plus model vertical formwork, Simplex Table and Linear flooring systems and the MP multidirectional structures) for the construction of three imposing buildings designed for services in the north zone of the area of the Al-Haram mosque in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. A majestic project, unprecedented in Pilosio’s history, the natural consequence of the company's new approach that, in recent years, has invested very heavily in strengthening its technical department and developing new software.  “Having a wide and competitive range of products is not enough if you lack the talent, that is, the human capital able to supply technical consultancy to the client, and if the software side is lacking. That’s why, at Bauma, Pilosio is talking about solutions, not just products," explained Dario Roustayan, Pilosio’s CEO.

Bearing witness to Pilosio’s great emphasis on design is its own stand at Bauma: a 1,700 square metre building with strong aesthetic impact intended to display the specifications and features of the materials produced by the company as well as the design ability of its engineering office. It was purposely designed and constructed only with standard Pilosio materials, using the MP multidirectional scaffolding, usually used on construction sites as material capable of creating architectural structures with captivating aesthetics.

THE PILOSIO STAND

BAUMA Trade Fair, North display area, F10/N1020/1

PILOSIO’s stand at Bauma was designed and constructed only with standard Pilosio material, using the MP multidirectional scaffolding, usually used on construction sites as material capable of creating architectural structures with captivating aesthetics.  The pavilion’s perimeter follows a rectangular plan of 43 x 40 metres to a height of 12.5 metres, enclosing two main interior spaces: an open air display area and one under cover for hospitality, including a technical area, offices and a space reserved for tasting wonderful “Made in Italy” food and wine. The construction modules of Pilosio’s MP system that make up the building form a geometrically coherent assembly, rigid yet at the same time fluid, thanks to use of PVC flysheets arranged in a zig-zag pattern. The overlapping flysheets anchored to the Pilosio multidirectional structures create a double architectural effect: the perception from outside the exhibition area of a dynamic reality and the clear identification of the access and exit points through the highly visible metal portals.

3rd EDITION OF PILOSIO’S INTERNATIONAL BUILDING THE PEACE AWARD.

Pilosio Stand. Wednesday, April 17th, 5 pm

Pilosio’s International Building the Peace Award was initiated in 2011 with the aim of granting recognition to those who design and build in order to improve the lives of people throughout the entire planet, promoting conditions that create a peaceful atmosphere of tolerance and social cohesion between peoples. The ceremony to present the award takes place annually at a major event that brings together the sector’s major players, and other leading figures, in order to create an opportunity to reflect on the ways in which the construction world can help the development of a modern civil society. The 2013 edition, which will be held on Wednesday, April 17th inside Pilosio’s stand at Bauma, will see the participation of architects of international repute, managers of major construction businesses and various Institutions, prominent among which will be the CEO of the Munich trade fair organisation, Klaus Dittrich. The 2013 award is to be presented to the English architect, Cameron Sinclair, the driving force behind ‘Architecture for Humanity’, a global network of professional architects who operate throughout the world to bring design, construction and development capacity to the most difficult areas of the planet, giving support to the most needy. The motivation behind giving the award to Cameron Sinclair in particular was due to his numerous interventions in favour of reconstruction in Haiti following the tragic earthquake of 2010.
