PILOSIO LOOKS EAST: P300 AND SLABFORM KEY PRODUCTS ON MOSCOVITE BUILDING SITE

The building equipment manufacturer has been chosen by the company Flat&CO to supply around 1200 square metres of formwork and 2000 square metres of floors for the construction of an important residential and commercial structure in the Russian capital.

Equipped with a great capacity for solving the most complex building site problems, Pilosio has been chosen to supply around 1200 square metres of P300 formwork and 2000 square metres of Slabform floors to Flat&CO, a company engaged in constructing an important structure in Moscow, in Odessa Street. The building in question is composed of three towers around 85 metres high, made up of 26 floors (of which 4 are below ground and 22 above), which are intended for mainly residential and commercial use. Each tower will be built around an elliptic core and the individual floors will be subject to rotation around the axis, thereby creating a real twist from floor to floor.

Pilosio proved to be the most technologically suitable choice to tackle such an ambitious challenge: indeed, Pilosio’s engineers have developed a design that, above all, involves the use of the P300 formwork, thanks to which it has been possible to build the complex elliptical core. P300 is a universal system of modular formwork suitable for all types of building site for the execution of vertical artefacts cast on-site, which stands out for the high modularity of the panels and the great versatility of use. The P300 panels are the best compromise between productivity and economy of operation. Simple and robust, resistant to a maximum pressure of 60 kN per square metre, thanks to their modularity they are suitable for small, medium and large sites for the execution of walls, load-bearing walls, pillars, walls and single-sided walls, footings and concrete dosserets.

Pilosio’s tailor-made design for the client envisaged the creation of monolithic slab flooring by means of the Slabform system, which enables a high level of productivity since it allows faster removal of formwork compared to traditional wooden systems, making it possible to cast as many as 3 floors a month rather than a single one and to complete the entire complex in a little less than a year. Slabform is an aluminium modular formwork system for the execution of cast floors on-site in monolithic or lightweight concrete. This is completely industrialised formwork that does not require specialised labour for assembly and is ideal for monolithic or lightweight slabs, notwithstanding the fact it can also be used in casting traditional joist floors and hollow floor blocks, above all for its safe operation.

PRODUCTS FOCUS:

P300 FORMWORKS

The P300 is based on a 100x300 cm base panel with a few, simple accessories, from a quick connection block to allow extremely rapid framework operations, removal and replacing framework to a varnished frame and surface counter-cast in 18 mm thick, high resistance, multilayered Finnish panels to ensure a high number of uses.  The coupling system, spaced every 1.5 square metres, is based on a P300 connecting block that ensures speedy assembly and perfect alignment of the formwork.

P300 FORMWORKS: ADVANTAGES

The advantages of this system lie in the speed of assembly and dismantling, in the alignment and perfectly coplanar joining of the panels and in its simplicity of use in every situation: a single downward stroke with a hammer is enough to seal the block.  In order to ensure high quality standards and duration over time, the high resistance steel frame, after de-greasing and cleaning processes, is varnished for immersion and drying in an oven at 130°. The result is a frame that is highly resistant to scratches and oxidation. The multilayered panel is 18 mm thick with surface protection from phenolic film (220 g/m2). It is made up of 13 layers of birch with protected, zero moisture absorption panel. The edges are protected with varnish and it can be used around 100 times per side. It weighs 11.35 kg/square metre. The P300 formwork is designed and made in the Pilosio factories in accordance with the prEN 15113-1/206 “Vertical formwork – Part 1 performance requirements, general design and assessment” regulations.

SLABFORM

The Slabform system is made up of a limited number of components which include high capacity supports of various sizes, aluminium beams of various measurements and panels of various sizes in aluminium with multilayered covering. The reduced weight of each component (maximum 15.5 kg) allows a single operator to manually reinforce the floor with high speed and ease, also due to the modularity of the components.  Both steel and aluminium supports can be used for great capacities and heights. The drop head allows the removal of the beams and panels from the cast after a few days, freeing it for other uses, leaving the support as a crosspiece for the complete setting of the concrete. In this way, the material is used more frequently, significantlyΩ reducing the costs of amortisation.

SLABFORM ADVANTAGES

The advantages of the system lie in the fact that it is the ideal solution for casting a monolithic floor in concrete, in addition to the fact that the system is also of sufficient size for slabs of remarkable thickness placed at great heights. Lightness is another strong point of Slabform: its components, indeed, can be moved manually, given the panels are in aluminium and weigh less than 16 kg. Modular, light and intuitive, the system enables a very high level of productivity: 3 operators can assemble up to 500 square metres a day of Slabform formwork with a floor intrados of 3 metres. Another plus of this system is the remarkable reduction of the rotation times of the casting on-site thanks to the drop head system, equipped with a special coupling that allows safe implementation without the risk of accidental disconnection of the head from the support. The number of supports is reduced to one every 3.45 square metres. Flexibility is an additional strong point of Slabform: the modularity of the system, in fact, makes it possible to create flooring of any geometry since the Slabprop aluminium supports, furnished with high mechanical specifications, allow the reinforcement of any floor thanks to openings from 2 to 5.20 metres that can be increased with extensions, reaching capacities up to 7.5 kN.
