Pink "Lucky fairy-Helix 1205" for Bleser Mietstation GmbH

The 3rd edition of the Height Access Technology Innovation Days recently took place in Hohenroda. During this first on-site show in 15 months, Andreas Hänel, Hematec Arbeitsbühnen GmbH, handed over a pink Helix 1205 to Maayke Bleser, Bleser Mietstation GmbH.

Some people may be surprised both by the unconventional choice of colors and by the fact that the self-propelled vertical work platform for Bleser Mietstation GmbH bears the name "Lucky fairy 2" (Glücksfee 2). There is a simple and beautiful explanation for both: For every day on which the Helix 1205 is rented, the rental company Bleser Mietstation GmbH donates the German Cancer Aid and a pink ribbon is the symbol for breast cancer.

“The whole story behind it is just doing something good because we're fine! We chose German Cancer Aid because I have a personal connection to it“– explains Maayke Bleser, who was affected by the same disease, to LECTURA.

The idea for this came up in the summer of 2019 when Bleser Mietstation GmbH was preparing the celebrations for its 10th anniversary. “We wanted to do something special on this occasion, but it shouldn't just be a one-time action, but something we can make a lasting contribution to and it was very important that we can identify with it,” Maayke Bleser continued.

Just in time for the anniversary celebration on August 19, 2019, Niftylift delivered the first „Lucky fairy AWP“. Ms Bleser explained to her guests the reason of the pink work platform and that her rental station would donate € 5.00 to the German Cancer Aid for every day the AWP is rented out. The response was so positive that "Lucky fairy 1" was rented for several months that evening.

Some customers may be a little skeptical about the color at first, but as soon as they find out the story behind it, they are proud to be able to use it. By renting this AWP, around 1,500 € have been raised for the German Cancer Aid.

In Hohenroda, the "Lucky fairy 2", a Helix 1205, was ready to be handed over and Andreas Hänel had another surprise in his pocket that would make this a particularly emotional event. The Dresden-based manufacturer presented Maayke Bleser with a check for € 3,500.00 for a good cause.

Iva Thiel, Managing Director of LECTURA GmbH, found the initiative and the story behind the Lucky fairy AWP‘s so beautiful that she spontaneously supported this project with € 1,500.00. "This is a project that LECTURA identifies with by 100%, so I am very happy to be part of this campaign”, explains Iva Thiel.

Afterwards Maayke Bleser told us: “Frank Rodert came up to us and said he would also like to produce an AWP for us. We chose the Helix because no other manufacturer builds something like this. All high-bay warehouses are getting narrower and narrower, with a width of 1 m and the lateral reach, this is a great platform. I didn't know anything about the generous check - nor about the generous donation from LECTURA - I think it's great and I'm grateful.”
