Plant thieves... Who's watching the nicked kit?

On 5th September, a member of the public stumbled across a  2.5-tonne Caterpillar 302.5C excavator (pictured) which appeared to have been abandoned in the Crossflatts area of West Yorkshire.

The concerned citizen, who also happens to run a large plant hire company, called TER and discovered that it had been stolen only a few days earlier!

The owners, Hewden, who register their stolen equipment with TER, were delighted to recover their missing excavator after the police Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) had examined it for fingerprints.
