New Giga-Trailer forage transport wagons
With a complete revision of the former Giga-Trailer series, Strautmann is presenting a new range of powerful and robust forage transport wagons on the occasion of this year's Agritechnica.
With the new Giga-Trailer model, Strautmann is presenting a thorough revision of the well-known forage transport wagons which convince by weight-optimised design and easy handling. As their predecessors, the new series comprises three sizes from a capacity of 38 – 52 m³ and is optionally available with or without beaters.
The galvanised frame of the smallest model Giga-Trailer 4002 is a completely new development and excels by a welded structure which ensures significant weight saving compared to the predecessor model. The trailer is equipped with a boogie tandem chassis with rigid BPW axles and is optionally available with passive or electronic active steering. The new drawbar with mechanical suspension is linked beneath the frame and has an extremely slim design for optimum manoeuvrability. The frames of the two larger models are fitted with hydraulic BPW chassis and have already proven their worth on the previous models.
The conical bodies of the new Giga-Trailer models are equipped with an absolutely smooth front panel where the loaded material can easily run down during discharge. To ensure a good view into the cargo space, the panel has been designed as a continuous perforated plate. The bodies have a conical shape to guarantee quick and easy discharge. They can be extended to maximum transport capacity by means of optional 160 mm high extensions. The transport floor with four robust round steel chains (14 x 50 mm) and central drive gear is available as a mechanically or hydraulically powered version and ensures fast discharge of the machines. The hydraulic drive can be equipped with an optional 2-gear circuit which still considerably increases the emptying speed. A standard mechanical display enables the driver to monitor the tailgate opening during discharge in order to avoid damage caused by operating errors. An optional electronic monitoring device warning the driver by a visual and acoustic signal and disabling the hydraulic transport floor drive when the tailgate is closed, is also available. A special feature of the Giga-Trailer models is the corrosion-resistant plastic floor already known from the predecessor series and having proved its worth there.
