Early 2013, China’s construction machineries are mostly in compliance with China’s national environment standard II that is far inferior to North America’s 4I environment standard. As we all know, machinery’s compliance with environment standard largely relies on its engine’s emission, so how well an engine works is a determinative factor. Currently, CUMMINS in North America had just developed the first engine conforming to the highest international environment 4F standard, which is superior to 3I standard. By then, CUMMINS’s newly developed engines were available only in North America market, with no exportation to China. Mr. Wang Yansong, XCMG’s Vice Chairman and General Manager of XCMG Import & Export Co., Ltd. departed immediately for CUMMINS’s North America headquarters after learning the news that the new model of CUMMINS engine was unveiled. He met and had a talk with CUMMINS’s top management on cooperation between the two sides. After cordial and sincere negotiation, CUMMINS agreed at the meeting to equip the newly developed environmental friendly engine on XCMG’s QUY80U crawler crane. Both sides officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. XCMG’s QUY80U crawler crane was the first machinery in China that is in compliance with 4F standard.

CUMMINS responded so quickly and placed a very high value to XCMG’s request for cooperation and swiftly signed cooperation agreement with XCMG. This should be attributed to XCMG’s powerful brand and long-term cooperative relations between the two sides.

Customer Centered Win-win Development Strategy

QUY80U design team is working hard to ensure XCMG’s product is customers’ first choice. Although QUY80U has complied with international environment standard, XCMG has purchased urea boxes from North America and equipped them on CUMMINS engines so as to maximize their efficiencies. QUY80U design team headed by chief designer has successfully developed disassembly-free crawler beam to meet customers' need, in addition, the crawler weight is reduced by 5 tons. Transport cost and the difficulty of crawler disassembly are greatly decreased while operation efficiency is improved. Customers are so impressed by XCMG's attitude to customer’s satisfaction and its determination of sustainable improvement.

Today, XCMG’s first QUY80U crawler crane showcased in Las Vegas Building Machinery Trade Show has been ordered. A client from Canada has signed a purchase contract with XCMG, marking the first triumph of selling XCMG building machinery in North America market.
