Reversible « field » shredders BCR 2800 and BCR 3200

KUHN adds a new series of reversible shredders to it horizontal axis field shredder range, the BCR 1000, intended for large size crop farms, machinery cooperatives and contractors seeking a tool both efficient and reliable.

Both available models, the BCR 2800 and BCR 3200 (with respective working widths of 2.80 m and 3.23 m) have been designed to allow high working speed when shredding very large quantities of residues whether crop residues or fallow land.

Therefore, the large casing is made up of high strength steel supported by two main beams of large section. Power is supplied to the rotor on the BCR 2800 by 4 Power Band belts and a double 6-belt drive on the BCR 3200. This particularly robust design combined with the new high capacity gearbox allows using tractor DIN engine powers of up to 300hp.

Shredding quality and evenness are essential for effective cover crop destruction, promoting soil fertility, ensuring uniform germination of the following crop, controlling pest and diseases but also for transforming rapidly organic matter into humus. This involves fine shredding at a constant height and with good residue distribution over the soil. All machine components participate: roller or pivoting wheels for excellent ground following, large diameter rotor (647mm), good tool overlap, helical layout of the hammer knives or universal knives with stubble pallets which provide even shredding and good suction of residues sticking to the soil…

These two models are available with single or twin linkage for use in front- or reversible front/rear- mount position. Using these shredders in front mounted position allows combining a tillage tool or shredder at the rear (BP 8300 for example), thus increasing work output considerably.

Moreover, numerous features contribute to reducing maintenance costs and saving time: easy removal of the belt guard, rollers with removable ends …
