The machines were purchased by Naboen, a leading Norwegian equipment rental company, which has 9 depot operations in Norway and operates over 11.000 tools and machinery, of which 1200 are aerial work platforms. For a variety of jobs to be done in construction and maintenance, Naboen needs 38 meter boom lifts with reduced noise levels and zero emissions.

Riwal’s expert technical team, led by Nico den Ouden, converted a JLG 1200SJP from diesel to 100% electric and then Riwal launched the machine during the APEX exhibition in Amsterdam on May 2nd. Converted machines are available to Riwal’s rental customers and will also be sold to other rental companies and end users.

The key features of the JLG 1200SJP, such as 38 meter working height and 23 meter horizontal outreach, combined with the electric power source, provides Naboen customers with a strong solution enabling them to work in a safe and productive way both indoors and outdoors. With a noise level below 70 Dba and no carbon emissions whatsoever, this unique 100% electric boom lift is battery powered and has a 400 volt integrated battery charger.

Nina Aasland, CEO at Naboen, comments: “This machine is a great solution for our customers to work indoors as well as outdoors in areas with environmental restrictions without needing any particulate filters. Thanks to the reduced noise level and zero emissions, we can now easily meet local restrictions. It’s a true innovation with no alternative available on the market”.

Norty Turner, Riwal CEO, comments: “Riwal’s vision is to deliver the best customer experience in the industry and the JLG 1200SJP Electric by Riwal is an excellent example of how we translate this vision into practice. It is a sustainable alternative to diesel powered machines while maintaining all of its features. We want to lead the industry into the future and innovations such as the 38 meter electric will help take us there.”
