RM-Terex is launching serial production of WX/TX generation excavators at its new industrial facility in Tver

The revamped and upgraded assembly shop of the Tverskoy Excavator (TVEX) plant owned by RM-Terex (part of the Russian Machines Corporation managing the machine building assets of the Basic Element Group of Companies) started serial production of the new-generation WX/TX wheel and crawler excavators.

On April 23, 2015 the revamped assembly shop was opened at the RM-Terex – Tverskoy Excavator plant, ushering in large-scale manufacturing of the new generation of WX 200 wheel and TX 210 crawler excavators.

The total floor space of the new assembly shop is 6.5 thousand square meters and its designed annual output capacity is 1,100 excavators, with the further ramping-up and extending the product line. During the upgrading of the assembly shop, TVEX replaced all lifting equipment, streamlined logistics flows in the shop, reorganized assembly stations, put a high-tech painting conveyor line into operation to reach the highest level of paint coating quality by using the two-component enamel painting method.

WX 200 wheel and TX210LC crawler excavators, which will be manufactured in Tver have been designed in line with the international standards, specifically the EU safety directives and technical regulations of the Customs Union. Excavators will feature a complete set of Bosch-Rexroth hydraulics boosting their performance by 20 percent. In cooperation with Fritzmeier, a conceptually new cabin was engineered for the excavators. The design of the hood system improved through advanced layout solutions makes the access to components and assemblies much easier. Special modifications of the YAMZ-530 family, which passed successfully all the tests and are ready to be further used in challenging operating environment, have been approved as basic engines for TX/WX excavators. The excavators are equipped with a real-time monitoring system to track the operating parameters. The level of localization in terms of Russian-made components in each machine is 70 percent.

The launching of commercial manufacturing of entirely new products at the upgraded facilities of the Tverskoy Excavator plant is the result of the successful work of our international team. Today, products manufactured by RM-Terex are in high demand in Russia and CIS countries. The new generation of machines has very promising export prospects; thus, we will be able to extend our geography of supplies, which will include countries of Africa, Latin America and Middle East. In 2016 we intend to add 27 and 30-ton machines to our TX crawler excavator line. In addition, in the second half of 2015, we are starting localization of TLB 990 backhoe loaders in Tver as part of our import substitution program.
