SCHEUERLE trainees restore Öhringen vocational school landmark

Conspicuously displayed in the logo of the Öhringen vocational school is a stylized steam engine. The original model was built in 1912 and was used to drive tool machines in a Solingen hammer mill up to 1953; subsequently, it was re-located to the Hohenlohe-based Löwenbrauerei (brewery) in the town of Öhringen-Cappel. In 1988, restoration work was carried out by SCHEUERLE employees, and then completely overhauled by SCHEUERLE trainees in 2015. Now restored to its former glory, it graces the entrance to the vocational school.

"The trainees from SCHEUERLE who go to school here all made a great contribution and were very excited about the project from the beginning", said Wolfgang Roll, director of the vocational school. Dirk Schäfer, HR manager at SCHEUERLE, was also very enthusiastic from the onset by having the opportunity to begin again from where the colleagues had left off in 1988. "Even if the steam engine is something of a lightweight piece of equipment for our apprentices, they can be extremely proud of what they achieved every time they enter the school", added Schäfer.

Incidentally, anybody who associates provincialism with Pfedelbach has certainly got hold of the wrong end of the stick: from here, strong impulses go out to the whole world. Whoever decides on a career in the TII Group, the parent company of SCHEUERLE, quickly realizes that the family-owned enterprise provides opportunities for its employees at all locations which many employees working at a large corporation can only dream about. This applies not only to the Baden-Württemberg sites in Pfedelbach and Ulm (KAMAG Transporttechnik) but also Auxerre in the Chablis wine-growing region of France (NICOLAS Industries). The internationality of the business with heavy-duty vehicles brings a cosmopolitan flair into people´s everyday lives whilst the networking and linking of the locations with each other creates a productive working environment. A steelworks vehicle for Oman, a modular transport solution for Colombia, transport vehicles for the mining industry in Australia. At the TII Group, new employees notice from the very beginning that they make a difference around the world both literally and figuratively. Thereby there are many ways to reach this goal - the TII Group offers opportunities for trainees, students and experienced professionals.
