SGT presents its shortest and most maneuverable 30-cubic meter spreading tanker

The two-axle tanker trailer for the Claas Xerion is a global first on the slurry technology market

Minimizing impact on the ground from slurry spreading operations poses a major challenge to farmers once the vehicle exceeds certain dimensions. The German slurry technology specialist SGT, a company of the Austrian Bauer Group, has now developed a spreading tanker that addresses precisely this issue with special tires and lower required tractive force.

Despite its large volume of 30,700 liters, the SGT ST 30000 allows contract farmers and large operators to spread slurry with minimal impact on the ground. This is ensured by the tanker’s tires: At 2.18 meters, they have a significantly larger footprint than the typical tractor and Tridem tankers. The 900/60 R42 tires also reduce ground resistance and thereby the required tractive force.

Both axles are steerable and lock themselves proportionally to the travel speed during road operation. Despite the long attachment length, the tanker is the shortest and most maneuverable 30-cubic meter tanker on the market. The tanker was developed specially for the Claas Xerion, type 783 Saddle Trac.

Innovative two-chamber system

The slurry tanker is divided into two chambers: During spreading, first the rear chamber and then the front one is emptied. This maintains the pressure on the Xerion for as long as possible. As a result, even with heavy attachments of six tons, there are no problems whatsoever with negative tongue load. The pressure on the ball of the Xerion also further increases the tractive force exerted by the tractor onto the ground. The weight of the entire machine is divided among all four axles, which prevents uneven pressure points on the ground.

Maximum flexibility without a special license

The tanker is filled via the included SGT front unit with 160-degree rotation. The range is up to eight meters, ensuring maximum flexibility during filling. To use the SGT ST 30000 in normal operation, no special license is required. Together, the tractor and tanker have a combined length of 17.3 meters and a width of less than three meters, which is within the legal standard.

Filled in four minutes

In the standard version, the tanker has a 9,000 l/min. rotary lobe pump from Vogelsang. With the optional 12,000 l/min. rotary lobe pump, the tanker can even be filled within four minutes. Even at relatively high speeds (8 km/h) and larger operating widths (30 meter trailing hose), it is possible to achieve a spreading volume of 30 m³/ha, which opens up an enormous increase in performance for professional users.
