New SGT spreading tanker: No tipping on slopes

A single-axle gooseneck tanker for the Claas Xerion impresses with maneuverability and rapid filling

Slurry spreading on slopes always presents a challenge. The new spreading tanker from SGT, a company of the Austrian Bauer Group, is particularly suited for steep terrain thanks to a width of roughly 5 meters with extended axle. This makes it almost impossible for the tanker to tip. The enormous maneuverability of the new tanker is also impressive as the pulling Xerion can be turned over 90 degrees.

Despite its large volume of 21,500 liters, the SGT LT 21000 allows the spreading of slurry with minimal impact on the ground: The axle of the tanker can be extended to prevent the tanker and tractor from rolling over the same ground. The wide tires (900/60 R38) are also easy on the soil while lowering the required tractive force.

The slurry tanker is divided into two chambers: During spreading, first the rear chamber and then the front one is emptied. This maintains the pressure on the Xerion for as long as possible. As a result, even with heavy attachments of five tons, there are no problems whatsoever with negative tongue load. The pressure on the ball of the Xerion also further increases the tractive force exerted by the tractor onto the ground.

Maximum flexibility without a special license

The gooseneck tanker can be equipped with the SGT front unit with a range of up to eight meters. This ensures maximum flexibility during filling, and small hedges or ditches in the headland do not represent obstacles. To use the SGT LT 21000 in normal operation, no special license is required. Together, the tractor and tanker have a combined length of 14 meters, a width of less than three meters and a height of less than four meters.

Filled in no more than 2.5 minutes

In the standard version, the tanker has a 9,000 l/min. rotary lobe pump from Vogelsang. With the optional 12,000 l/min. rotary lobe pump, the tanker can even be filled within 2.5 minutes. The tanker is discharged via the drag hose applicator with an operating width of 24 meters or a trailing shoe applicator of up to 21 meters. The rapid discharging of the tanker results in an enormous increase in performance.
