In the past year, Emil Gisler AG / GIPO AG developed an unusual project in collaboration with Eberhard Unternehmungen. Because of the statutory requirements regarding emission control during the transhipment of contaminated mineral excavation materials, the earth-processing plant BodenAnnahmeZenter Basel in Birsfelden harbour had to develop a ship loader.
The engineers and steel workers in Seedorf turned Eberhard Unternehmungen’s innovative specifications into reality. Several heavy-load shipments were required in mid-January 2014 to transport the ship loader from Seedorf to Birsfelden.
The mobile tracked machine can be fed directly via a truck or wheel loader using a hinged ramp as well as via the feed hopper using a re-handling excavator. The material is transported via an apron conveyor and a cross conveyor onto a 15-metre-long swivel-mounted conveyor side arm with built-on loading pipe. The dust and odour emissions are suctioned off at all material transfer points and cleaned by a high-performance active carbon and dust filter system that is built onto the machine. The complete ship loader weighs around 110 tonnes and reaches a maximum loading capacity of 300 tonnes per hour.
The machine has been in operation for more than a year now and has proven its efficiency.
