Steel construction for biomass power plant in Croatia

Stages and platforms, railings and guardrails, ladders and stairs – a total of 33 tonnes of steel were supplied by the contract manufacturing department in mid-August to the Croatian town Požega. The steel framework comprising various components is part of a biomass power plant being built by AGRO Forst- und Energietechnik GmbH for a private client there. The installation of the custom construction lasted three weeks and was carried out by an assembly team from Rädlinger. The relatively limited space in the power plant and the almost entirely completed interior complicated the attachment of steel components. However, the design achievement involved in this steel construction project is not to be underestimated, as the skeleton extends over six levels of up to 20 m in height. Only the absolute precision employed in the production of each of the modules gave an assurance of all individual parts fitting easily together on site.
