SILOKING Self Line 4.0 system 500+ - the four-wheel steered allrounder for farm and road

At Agritechnica 2015, SILOKING presents the new SelfLine 4.0 System 500+ for the first time. The self-propelled feed mixer has been developed especially for professional use on dairy farms with several locations, for feeding communities and agricultural contractors. As an all-rounder for farms and roads it is suited both for fast road travel and for farms with constricted conditions.

A top-class workplace with integrated Can-bus control

All SelfLine 4.0 machines have a new, clearly designed and spacious cab with all-round visibility. The standard equipment of the cab includes an air-suspended driver’s seat with integrated multi-functional armrest, a three-way adjustable steering column and a low cab entry with a wide door. The optimized windscreen angle ensures more space, a better view and cleanliness in the cabin, since dirt can hardly settle on the screen. Large wipers ensure clear vision in the rain.

The Can-bus control is integrated in the multi-functional armrest attached to the driver’s seat. An intelligent push button and joystick control assignment provides high operating comfort. The standard Feed Table Management enables storing several functions that can be activated on the press of one button – a feature already in function in fully automatic headland management systems of tractors. This offers highest feeding precision and along with the other new features, a level of comfort leading to working efficiency increased by up to 30 per cent.

A roof panel made of tinted safety glass with a grille collapsible without the need for tools additionally increases the driver’s working efficiency (improved view of the feed extraction) and protects him against falling material. The standard LED lighting strip in the roof grille ensures illumination of the main working area over a radius of 3 meters. Maintenance of the cab functions is simple. For example, the filter for the air conditioning and the fuses can be accessed from outside with ease.

Durable, low-wear engines

The System 500+ models are fitted with a Volvo D8 engine of emission standard stage IV with 218 hp that offer high torque while achieving low consumption values. The low vibrations of the 6-cylinder engine with its considerable cylinder capacity of 7.7 liters ensure minimum wear. The standard engine oil has to be changed only every 1,000 operating hours. This means twice as long maintenance intervals.

Another innovation is the technically sophisticated return filter system for the hydraulics produced by Bosch Rexroth. All components from the milling head to the mixing unit are driven hydraulically. The new system remains below 250 liters despite the large number of consumers. Only standard oil and standard filters are used. It all adds up in maintenance intervals of 1,000 operating hours and a further reduction in costs.

The SelfLine 4.0 System 500+ 2519 is the perfect machine when reliability and high performance even under difficult conditions are required. Examples are drives on uneven surfaces on the farm, rough terrain, dirt roads or flagstone paths. A four-wheel steering, large-size tires and two steered axles provide the machine with excellent maneuverability. High traction is guaranteed even when the machine is empty – thanks to the front drive axle where you can also find the drive and hydraulic units.

Homogeneous mixing of the feed

However, the one thing that matters most while feeding is the well-being of the cows. Therefore, the structure of the feed and precise mixing must be prioritized. The size of the mixing hopper and the mixing auger are of great importance for homogeneous mixing of the feed. Offering hopper capacities of 25 m³, 22 m³ and 19 m³ and individually adapted turbo augers, the SelfLine System 500+ 2519 model range is designed for high mixing accuracy. SILONOX - a corrosion-resistant, acid-resistant and abrasion-resistant stainless steel alloy - for the highly stressed parts of the hopper and the auger ensures maximum wear resistance. The heavy-duty magnet which is integrated in the mixing auger removes metallic foreign materials and therefore protects the cows against injuries.

The Bavarian feeding specialists keep relying on the proven combination of 2-meter wide milling head with 42 knives for gentle silo extraction and a well-positioned conveying channel for the new machines, too. It is arranged almost symmetrically in the center of the vehicle and its width of 70 cm offers the tried and tested dimension for quick transport of the feed components. The SILOKING milling head is suited for any feed components.

Economically interesting package

The machine is available in three speed versions (25/40/50 km/h). In all three versions, air suspension at the front and at the rear together with an automatic level control ensures driving comfort, stability and safety even with differential loads. At the same time, the air suspension protects the units against shocks.

The 40- and 50-km/h versions of the SILOKING SelfLine 4.0 System 500+ are equipped with low-wear drum brakes. Thanks to the brakes’ low resistance to rolling, fuel consumption can be further reduced. Along with the automotive design of the engine control (speed-reduced road travel), this results in a very interesting package in terms of efficiency and economies.
