“Simply Said is a place where I’ll share my thoughts about many industry topics monthly, but also in the Skyjack tradition, have some fun as well,” Boehler said.

Launched in 2015, the new Simply Said blog will share monthly updates and is a space where readers are invited to join the conversation.

“I’d like Simply Said to be a space where I could have conversations with people from around the world,” Boehler said. “Skyjack has a tradition of listening to customer needs and now we are taking it a step further and creating a space where customers can share their ideas, thoughts and recommendations directly with me.”

Monthly updates

Boehler plans to update the blog at the end of every month and welcomes ideas for blog topics in the future.

In Boehler’s first new post he shares insights for the year ahead and discusses the company’s enhanced motor controllers. Below is a sample of the first blog post.

"The Reports of My Death Are Greatly Exaggerated”

The great American humorist, Mark Twain, while visiting his ill cousin in London in 1897 wrote a similar phrase to a reporter friend to counter news that Twain had died. The now famous quote is a great metaphor for what some of our competitors are saying about us—that with the introduction of enhanced motor controllers Skyjack is adopting computer technology.

Well, let me clear up the falsity of these reports in a similar way to Twain—The reports of Skyjack shelving its proven relay-based approach are also greatly exaggerated.

Skyjack firmly believes in its Simply Reliable philosophy and the company is not deviating from the time tested, easy to troubleshoot and maintain approach.

We are offering the enhanced motor controllers as an option and the much-loved traditional Skyjack units will still be available. What’s more, the enhanced motor controllers have been featured on our vertical mast products since they were first introduced.

Is change in the air?

The change that’s causing such a stir is simply an enhancement to ensure that only the power required for the requested task is generated. This option also offers additional benefits, such as:

  • Longer battery life

  • Lower energy consumption

  • Improved environmental credentials

  • Optimized maneuverability

  • Quieter operations

The motor controller is only tasked to control the speed of the pump/motor combination. The control of the unit is still achieved as per analog system and as such if that pump and motor is spinning, the motor controller is functioning as expected.
