Skyjack’s tallest electric scissor lift featured at bauma China

Linamar Corporation’s Skyjack division participated in this year’s bauma China, the nation’s leading construction equipment exhibition, displaying its DC electric scissor SJIII 4740 for the first time in Asia. The four-day event took place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in November.

“This year’s bauma China was a great opportunity for us to strengthen our position and show our competitive edge to the Asia market,” said Malcolm Early, vice president of marketing at Skyjack.

bauma China is a biennial event for the construction machinery industry which attracts thousands of leading construction machinery manufacturers from all around the world to China.

“We couldn’t miss the opportunity to participate in such a high-profile exhibition,” Early said. “In the coming year, we will continue to expand our presence in Asia especially China and strive to provide first rate service to our clients in the region,” said Early.

Mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) from across the Skyjack range were displayed at Skyjack’s booth E70. As the world’s leading producer of scissor lifts, Skyjack offers MEWP solutions for a variety of applications. 

Launched earlier this year, the SJIII 4740 is the tallest electric scissor lift in Skyjack’s range, with a 13.8 m (45.3 ft) working height and a 227kg (500 lbs) maximum weight capacity. Skyjack designed the unit’s steering system to offer an impressive turning radius of 0.54 m (21 in) and single location emergency lowering. 

Skyjack’s latest articulating boom SJ30 ARJE features a 10.82 m (29.6 ft) working height and maximum weight capacity of 227 kg (500 lbs). With an up-and-over clearance of 3.99 m (13.1 ft), the unit has a 1.52 m (60 in) inside turning radius. Direct electric AC wheel motors provide an optimized drive, combining efficient duty cycle performance with 35% gradeability. Like other Skyjack equipment, the SJ30 ARJE features SKYCODED™, Skyjack’s proven and simplistic color-coded and numbered wiring system – offering a common parts advantage. Also common to existing Skyjack booms, are the SkyRiser and EasyDrive features. 

At bauma China, Skyjack also showcased its full range of products designed to appeal to both new and existing Skyjack customers. Skyjack’s simply reliable design ethos is mirrored in both its latest and greatest machines.
