Bosch Rexroth is simplifying the setup, control and operation of electrohydraulic pump systems with the new H4U.cube complete solution . The extension to the modular H4U (Hydraulics for You) hydraulics platform combines H4U.apps software modules with powerful hardware and the intuitive H4U.ui user interface. This makes it easy to design high-performance pump control systems, commission them quickly and optimize them at the touch of a button. With the H4U.cube pQ, Bosch Rexroth is presenting the first version of the solution for controlling pressure and flow at EUROBLECH 2026. Further versions are in preparation.
The megatrends of automation, digitalization and climate protection require hydraulics to deliver greater productivity, availability and energy efficiency. At the same time, the decline in hydraulics expertise at many companies calls for simpler integration and operation.
Bosch Rexroth has specifically designed the modular H4U hydraulics platform to address these challenges. With the new H4U.cube extension, the company combines the already available H4U.apps with high-performance hardware and the intuitive H4U.ui user interface.
The H4U.cube pQ controls the pressure and flow of either one or two variable displacement pumps, such as the A3V2Q, A10VSO or A4VSO types. Continuous adjustment of the swivel angle and, optionally, the speed ensures high control quality, energy efficiency and operational transparency. Investment costs are also reduced, as one control unit is sufficient for two pumps. In dual-pump systems, the hardware required for control is also reduced.
Via standardized fieldbus interfaces such as PROFINET RT, the modular pump control system integrates directly into the respective machine control system, regardless of the manufacturer. Automation can therefore be implemented in the familiar automation software – without technical hurdles or system discontinuities.
Hydraulics integration is simplified by the menu-guided H4U.ui user interface. The commissioning assistant enables a quick start by suggesting suitable controller parameters, among other features. Optimization is easy using four plus/minus fields or via autotuning, which determines the optimum settings for precise and stable control. In presses, for example, pressure overshoots that may occur when the press ram makes contact can be compensated automatically, allowing the pressure to reach the setpoint quickly.
Diagnostic functions and integrated maintenance information ensure smooth operation with minimized downtime. Software updates provide a high level of future readiness and availability throughout the life cycle.
“In the H4U.cube complete solution, we bring together our comprehensive expertise – from hardware and software competence to application and control know-how, user experience and connectivity,” says Rainer Henning, Senior Product Manager Software and H4U.app at Bosch Rexroth. “This makes it easier, faster and more intuitive than ever before to design and integrate decentralized control functions – independently of the machine control system and with the same high level of performance users expect.”
