SmartView: the first video system with the "See what and how you want" function

The patent pending GRIMME SmartView is the first video system for agricultural machinery, which offers the user the choice to decide what he wants to see. The system has significant features including a zoom and slow motion function, live image transfer on mobile devices via WiFi, the choice of various window arrangements as well as the largest display on the market.

Zoom function

The user can define with the zoom function, what he wants to see out of the whole video image. For the first time it is possible to show one and the same camera several times on the monitor.  That enables the user to zoom into different parts of the whole video image, independent of each other and simultaneous. The cameras do not need to be readjusted by hand, as the user can zoom into the relevant video as requested.

Live Slow Motion

For an improved function control the user can change every video image into slow motion. Thus enables the user to react quick to changing harvest conditions and change settings of the separators for example.

Live image transfer via WiFi

SmartView enables a simple connection of a mobile device, a tablet or smart phone, with the WiFi of the GRIMME machine, which is available via the telemetry unit on the machine. The life image transfer can show for example the picking people the situation of the separator, which is not visible from the picking platform.

Video recording

Video images and screenshots can be recorded and stored on commercially available USB sticks for documentation of the various operating conditions.

Largest display on the market

The large 12 inch touch-screen monitor can display up to 8 video images at the same time. In total it is possible to connect up to 24 cameras to the video system. The operation is the same as known from a tablet or smart phone

Visual Protect

SmartView contains the already existing and until today unique function Visual Protect, which was awarded a DLG silver in 2007. Visual Protect ensures that when problems occur or settings are changed in an area, the corresponding video image is automatically displayed.

A new feature of Visual Protect is that, in addition to a large display of the event on the monitor, several video images can also be displayed in a user-defined window arrangement. Thus, the upstream and downstream areas can be displayed simultaneously.

From 2020, the SmartView system will be available as standard on the VENTOR 4150 self-propelled potato harvester and as an option on the EVO 280 trailed bunker harvester.
