  • The KTEG 10U-6 SL mini excavator, based on the Hitachi ZX10U-6, will debut at Bauma 2025.

  • It features side-positioned joysticks for enhanced operator comfort and safety, similar to the ZX17U-6 and ZX19U-6 models.

  • The machine offers easy seat access, a movable console, and gas dampers for efficient maintenance.

  • The KTEG 10U-6 SL complies with EN474 safety regulations with a new seat belt.

  • KTEG emphasizes added value and customer choice, showcasing the collaboration between HCM and KTEG engineers.

  • KTEG is a joint venture between Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and Kiesel Technology Entwicklung GmbH, announced at Bauma 2022.

The smallest model on the Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) stand at Bauma 2025 will be the one-tonne KTEG 10U-6 Side Lever mini excavator. It is one of eight new mini and compact excavators to be unveiled at the event.

The KTEG 10U-6 SL is based on the Hitachi ZX10U-6 and has several new features that enhance operator comfort and safety. The joysticks are positioned on the side of the operator’s seat, which makes it easier to operate and more user-friendly than the Zaxis-6 model. The levers are the same type as on the larger ZX17U-6 and ZX19U-6 models, delivering the same levels of responsiveness and comfort.

Operators can easily access the seat from either side of the machine’s console, which can be moved up and down. The engine cover is also easier to open and close for quick and efficient maintenance with the installation of gas dampers. And to comply with EN474 industry safety regulations, the KTEG 10U-6 SL has a new seat belt, further enhancing safety for operators.

Extending customer choice and adding value

The KTEG 10U-6 SL is a perfect example of the KTEG philosophy to focus on added value for customers. It also highlights how HCM is broadening the variety of machines it can provide to contractors, giving them a greater choice of solutions for their projects to meet their specific needs.

“We are delighted to present the KTEG 10U-6 SL mini excavator at Bauma 2025 among our selection of KTEG models,” says KTEG Managing Director Harald Thum. “This is the result of the strong collaboration between HCM and KTEG engineers, and proof of what can be achieved when we work closely together to develop innovative customer-centric solutions.”
