In addition to the innovative T 400, T 630, and 7.49-t champion T 330, the work platform specialist also showcased the one and only TBR 220 – currently the best-selling STEIGER® on a 3.5 t chassis.

Featuring an incredible 16.4 m lateral reach and 22 m working height, the TBR 220 has performance capabilities that, up until a few years ago, were only available in the 7.49 t truck category, as these pictures clearly illustrates. The photos compare the TBR 220 with the RUTHMANNSTEIGER® TK 220 – a truck-mounted aerial platform on a 7.49 t chassis. The performance capacity of the TK 220 – with its 22 m working height and 15 m lateral reach – is surpassed by the TBR 220 on a 3.5 t chassis. TBR 220: small chassis – amazing performance!!

With the TBR 220 – the world’s current reach champion – RUTHMANN is able to meet the growing demand for greater customer benefits and performance capabilities on lighter trucks. There are hundreds of work platforms made by other manufacturers that will soon need to be replaced. When it comes to replacement investments, RUTHMANN products are highly attractive. RUTHMANN’s latest sales figures can substantiate this. The TBR 220 is not only the current reach champion in the 3.5 t category but with150 units sold in just 7 months, it is also the best-selling RUTHMANN STEIGER® ever.

The movable jib (RÜSSEL®) on the TBR 220 has a swivelling range of 185° for maximum versatility at the job site. Objects can be reached with great precision and sensitivity. Assignments can even be carried out BEHIND objects.

In the 3.5 t (GVW) category, the TBR 220 can be mounted onto a variety of different truck makes and models including: Sprinter, Crafter, Cabstar, and Maxity.

“HV5” or “S7” versions of the TBR 220 can also be ordered for even greater load capacity and/or all-wheel drive capabilities.

The HV5 horizontal/vertical support mechanism allows the TBR 220 to be mounted onto chassis with up to 6 t (GVW) such as the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ivaco Daily, or VW Crafter.

In the S7 version, the TBR 220 can be mounted onto 7.49 t – 9 t (GVW) trucks including the Mercedes-Benz Atego (four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive) or MAN TGL (two-wheel    drive).

The “S” in this type of support stands for “senkrecht”, which is German for “vertical”.

Vertical support means that the four hydraulic support cylinders are attached directly to the base frame of the STEIGER®. The work platform is stabilized within the contours of the vehicle.

With the new TBR 220 “HV5“and “S 7” versions, RUTHMANN is attracting customers also outside the work platform rental business.

With its incredible load capacity for tools and materials and off-road capabilities that facilitate maneuvering/working in rough, uneven terrain, the TBR 220 is the perfect work platform also for municipalities, electricity providers, and builders.

Regardless of which type of chassis the customer chooses, all are available in EURO 6 (emission standard) versions.

TBR 220: a work platform for everyone.

With the TBR 220, RUTHMANN is once again sticking with its popular “multi-chassis system”. The top-selling STEIGER® TBR 220 is now available on all-wheel drive chassis and chassis with greater gross vehicle weight (GVW).
