Three Palazzani Spider platforms at TATA Group in India - TCS Project

"It looks like a giant butterfly rising from the ground, its wings interconnected with its central spine, there’s a lot of glass and a lot of steel" so the Architect describes the building of Tata Consultancy Services, the Indian multinational information technology service, consulting and business solutions Company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra – India.

TCS is a subsidiary of the Tata Group, operating in 46 countries, with a total of over 300,000 employees, and it’s placed among the ‘Big 4’ most valuable IT services brands worldwide

The building, spread over an area of ​​5,000,000 m2, is designed by two Uruguayan architects internationally renowned Mr. Carlos Ott and Carlos Ponce de Leon and is mainly made of glass and steel. 
Composed of three structures that are connected each other through another central one, it appears with a modern design and a traditional Indian style too, looking like a temple.

Surrounded by gardens with fountains, streams and trees, the building is totally powered by solar panels and it’s certified by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) as one of the most ecological buildings in the territory.

Three Palazzani spider Platforms were chosen for the maintenance of this monumental and innovative building complex: RAGNO TZX 190 / C,  TSJ 30.1/C and TSJ 39 / C, with ECO power execution, a totally electric solution to support the ecological philosophy of TCS.

The platforms, respectively of 19, 30 and 39 meters of max w/h,  are used for about 3/4 hours a day for the outdoor and indoor wide glass facades cleaning, as well as for the premises maintenance, with zero environmental impact thanks to their electric motors and batteries. The use of scaffolding was particularly difficult due to the complexity of the structure, and TCS operators drove their choice to a much more versatile and practical Spider AWP.

The three machines have been recently delivered to TCS through Gemini Power Hydraulics LLC, Palazzani Dealer in India.
