TII Group showcases vehicle solutions for logistic terminals and heavy transport operations on public roads at the transport logistic fair

From 5th - 8th May 2015, the TII Group is presenting at the transport logistic in Munich (Hall A6, Stand 105-206). The Wiesel and TruckWiesel from KAMAG are the focus of attention at this year´s fair.

Even before the transport logistic has opened its doors, there is already tremendous interest in the trade-fair appearance of the TII Group. "We are expecting a lot of visitors to the show. The interest of the logistics industry in our interchangeable lifting truck and terminal tractor has grown from year to year", said Jürgen Dirr, Area Sales Manager and responsible for the Wiesel and TruckWiesel business. This is no surprise because these multi-talents already deliver full performance in single-shift operations when handling swap bodies under the toughest of conditions which, in turn, saves money. New since September 2013: the Wiesel is available in accordance with the Euromot 3B emissions standard and thus comes with a regular green sticker.

At this year's transport logistic, KAMAG Transporttechnik is presenting a fully equipped vehicle. In addition, KAMAG is offering the following new further technical developments:

  • reinforced underride protection device at the rear (can be telescoped laterally)

  • LED rear lighting system mounted in safe position over the underride protection device

  • all working lights in LED technology

  • access to lifting device positioned behind the driver´s cab

  • cab available with full air suspension

  • fully equipped Mercedes Benz ATEGO driver´s cab

  • improved warranty conditions

  • additional services such as full-service contracts and financing solutions can now be offered via KAMAG.

For achieving its tasks as an efficient truck tractor for one-man operations, the "TruckWiesel" from KAMAG has been designed to include a hydraulically-liftable fifth wheel for a fifth wheel load of up to 18 tonnes. In order to transport the full range of semi-trailers, different fifth wheel coupling heights can be realized. At this year's transport logistic, KAMAG is presenting a terminal tractor complete with Euromot 3B approval. Consequently, customers benefit from all the advantages due to compliance with the pollutant standard such as the "green sticker" for driving in urban environmental zones. The Wiesel and TruckWiesel are the most cost-effective solution for internal transport operations in logistic yards because here all types of standardized swap bodies and trailers can be transported or moved. Standard for the "Wiesel" are the long service intervals of 1,000 operating hours which is possible due to the almost wear-free, hydrostatic drive. The high level of serviceability is supported by the use of large-scale production assemblies and components whereby fuel consumption is around 5 litres per operating hour. As a result, the "Wiesel" is indispensable for every logistics yard and terminal where efficient container handling is a pre-requisite for economical yard logistics. The water-cooled diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz, with a performance of 115 kW for the TruckWiesel (optional 129 kW), accelerates the tractor up to its maximum speed of 40 km/h. Through the hydrostatic drive system, this is possible without any jerking movements and no disruption to the traction power, from a starting position up to top speed. The maximum speed of 40 km/h, which is also possible when reversing, clearly makes a positive impact on the handling speeds. In addition, the change of direction can be carried out when driving which, through wear-free hydraulic braking with subsequent immediate change in direction, results in an acceleration of the handling times.
