Totally New Valtra A Series - A Working Hero Completes the Valtra 4th Generation Tractor Range

The new Valtra A4 Series is the first 4th generation Valtra tractor series that is manufactured both in Suolahti, Finland and Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil, making it truly a global tractor. The 4th generation A Series is a completely new tractor and strongly reflects Valtra’s brand values based on our global customer promise: Your Working Machine.

New compact engines

A4 Series models are powered by AGCO Power Stage 4 diesel engines packed with state-of-the-art technology. The three smallest models have 3.3-litre engines, while the four biggest models have 4.4-litre engines. Both are four-valve units with totally new common rail injection systems that are capable of producing high power economically.

SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology is used to clean up nitrogen oxide emissions. Accordingly, the new engines comply with Stage 4 environmental requirements. Equally important, they also meet customer demands in terms of both performance and fuel efficiency. The smallest model, the A74, is fitted with a cooled EGR system to maintain cost efficiency.

The engine is fitted on top of a totally new front frame design. The exhaust cleaning system and engine dimensions are extremely compact to ensure maximum visibility.

Multiple chassis options

The new A Series covers an extremely wide power range – from 75 to 130 horsepower. This has been made possible by means of a smart modular range system. Three different chassis sizes are available, allowing the possibility to offer a wide range of horsepower classes but still use a common design and multiple common components. As always with Valtra tractors, the new A Series offers excellent ground clearance, making it ideal for forest use and field work, such as spraying and forage harvesting.

Almost 50 percent of tractors in the A and N Series are ordered with a factory-fitted front loader. The new fourth generation A Series is available with a new generation of factory-fitted front loaders in all chassis sizes. The new G Series front loaders feature new loader beams and tool carrier construction, offering improved visibility and a high level of stability.

The technical design of the A4 Series is also reflected in the look of the tractor. Everything is totally new. The new tractor range provides excellent visibility not only for front loader work but for all other tasks too when working during the day or night, in good or bad weather, in buildings or out on the fields. The 365 day visibility concept has already proven a success in the N4 and T4 Series.

Versatile transmissions

In the new A Series Valtra’s well-respected HiTech power shuttle transmission is supported by the best mechanical transmission ever seen in this class of tractors. The 12 forward and reverse gears are in two groups only, which minimises gear changes using the two levers. An additional super creeper option is also available for going as slow as 90 m/h (1400r/min), making this a true multi-application gearbox.

The aggressiveness of the shuttle can be adjusted to suit drivers with different tasks or driving habits. In addition the AutoTraction and HiShift features – known Valtra innovations that minimise the use of the clutch pedal – further facilitate driving. A synchro shuttle transmission will be made available later for customers who work fewer hours or who do not perform front loader work.

Up to 5.2 tons lifting capacity and 98 l/min hydraulics
The new A Series comes with electrically controlled AutoControl power lift as featured on other Valtra tractors. The smart modular base enables each A4 model to provide sufficient lifting capacity up to 5.2 tons.

The OC hydraulics provide enough output for all tasks. Up to 98 litres/min guarantees fast operation even with bigger front loaders or other implements. New A Series tractors can be equipped with up to three remote valves. The selection of options also includes hydraulic flow control.

All new cab

The A4 Series features a brand new cab design that offers the most space in this class of tractors. The new cab is both comfortable and functional, making the tractor pleasant and easy to use. The excellent ergonomics are supported by full electronic controls, including 4WD, diff lock, power lift and performance monitor. The new cab is also very quiet, and a proper second seat is available as an optional. Even LED rear lights are optionally available, just like on the N4 and T4 series.

The user interface is genuine Valtra, as is the light interior. You can relax but still work efficiently. The cab width and visibility compares favourably with the Valtra N4 and T4 Series, except the cab on the smaller A4 Series is slightly shorter. As in all Valtra tractors, the driver’s seat swivels 180 degrees to make reverse working efficient.

New A Series tailored to customer needs

As with all Valtra tractors, the new A Series is tailor-made according to individual customer preferences at the Valtra factory in Finland. With its modular design and hundreds of features and options, 4th generation A Series can be fully adapted to the unique needs of each customer. Deliveries start this summer

The new Suolahti-based Valtra A Series is being launched at the 2017 SIMA Show. Serial production of the new A Series will start in summer 2017. The tractors will be available for further exhibitions and customer test drives from July 2017 onwards.

The A4 model range comprises seven different models in three chassis sizes. All models come with cab and four-wheel drive.
