Transportation and installation of LPG storage tanks, Iraq

ALE has been contracted with the transportation and lifting operations for a total of eight LPG storage tanks in Iraq. So far, ALE has transported the eight storage tanks and has installed two storage tanks.

ALE firstly transported the tanks 600km from Umm Qasr port to Badra Oil Field. Four cranes have been used to lift and rotate the tanks, a 500t crawler, a 350t crawler, a 250t mobile and a 150t crawler crane. The four cranes are being used to rotate the LPG tanks 90 degrees then two of the cranes are being used to crawl to the area, adjacent to the plinths and to install the tanks onto their foundations.

The project is expected to continue until June 2016.
