Two new Genie Z™-62/40 diesel articulating booms for Elevo, Italy

Lombardy- based lifting, transport and mobile access equipment providers Elevo, recently took delivery of two of the first new diesel powered Genie® Z™-62/40 articulating boom lifts in Italy. Following their excellent performance on a first mission involving maintenance duties on an industrial jobsite, the company is expecting its new machines to provide high rental returns on invested capital (rROIC).

“We have recently strengthened our relationship with Genie and are especially appreciative of Genie® articulating boom lifts, which we deem to be among the most reliable in the industry. The positive feedback we received following our new machines’ first use definitely confirms our opinion,” says Sergio Gualandris, Managing Director, Elevo.

Combining a maximum working height of 20.87 m (67 ft 11 in), a maximum horizontal reach of 12.47 m (40 ft 11 in), and the ability to reach 3 m (8 ft 9 in) below grade with impressive up-and-over positioning capabilities up to 8.13 m (26 ft 8  in), the compact Z-62/40 boom lift provides the height for virtually any job.

“In terms of rental opportunities, in addition to its time-saving Genie® Fast Mast™ system, we believe that this unit’s zero tail swing is a benefit that offers a considerable competitive advantage,” explains Gualandris, “allowing it to work in narrow and congested workspaces with limited space for manoeuvering.”

Since Elevo received delivery of its two Z-booms, Genie has introduced a new Boom Maintenance Protocol that will ultimately help Elevo lower its total cost of ownership and drive its rROIC higher. “Scheduled maintenance procedures are now standardized across the entire boom family and some of the intervals have been extended. For us, in addition to reducing labour costs, this means that our machines will spend less time in our workshop and more time out on rent, which is just the kind the efficiency that any company in the rental business is looking for,” says Mr. Gualandris.
