TWS 85.1 - The precision large area spreader

The newly overhauled RAUCH large area spreader TWS 85.1 meets practical requirements for high strength, low ground pressure and maximum precision in an ideal way. Thanks to the separate design of the transfer vehicle with a tank capacity of 8,200 litres and the attached three-point twin-disc spreader with an additional capacity of 1,400 litres, TWS 85.1 benefits from all current RAUCH innovations in fertiliser technology of the AXIS.2 fertiliser spreader series which has also been completely overhauled. In small structured areas with many field corners, for difficult soil conditions or in late fertilising, the AXIS fertiliser spreader can also be used in stand-alone operation.

Two TWS basic models for the mechanical (AXIS M) or the hydraulic fertiliser spreader drive (AXIS H) can be selected. The mechanical drive is particularly suited for tractors with low hydraulic capacity.

Whether it is used with ISOBUS electronics or with QUANTRON-A, TWS 85.1 with AXIS.2 and the separate EMC electronic mass flow control and regulation for each metering slide meet the highest requirements of fully automatic fertiliser metering. Using AXIS 30.2, working width of 12 to 42 m are achieved. Using AXIS HT 50.2, tracks up to 50 m can be realised. In wedge-shaped fields, with varying boundary lines or in headlands, four or eight sections can be selected using VariSpread V4, V8 or V8 plus depending on the equipment. Thanks to GPS control, the sections are switched automatically at high precision. At the same time, OptiPoint automates the opening and closing of the metering slides inheadlands. With the RAUCH GSE or TEILMAT boundary spreader units for AXIS M and the standard combined speed and drop point adjustment for AXIS H, TWS meets all requirements of the fertiliser ordinance.

The fertiliser is transferred fully automatically using the hydraulically driven transfer screw conveyor via an additional electronic QUANTRON-A operating unit. Remotely controlled from the cabin, the screw conveyor speed can be adjusted to the desired application. The external, sensor-monitored stainless-steel screw simplifies access and maintenance.

TWS handling has been further optimised by overhauling the access ladder, the hydraulic support stand and the hydraulically remote-controlled hopper cover. With track widths of 1.8 m, 2.0 m and 2.25 m, TWS 85.1 can be adjusted to common track systems. In addition, the RAUCH designers have upgraded the TWS using new, high-quality BPW axes, a pneumatic dual-circuit braking system with spring brake, foldable screens for easy cleaning and a large viewing window for visual TWS filling level control. In contrast to previous models, the new TWS 85.1 models are completely developed, produced and assembled at the RAUCH factory.

The new, innovative LED lighting to the front and to the back and the highly reflective warning signs increase traffic safety and give the machine a modern look. The elaborate powder coating as well as the high proportion of stainless steel components preserve the value of this investment for many years.
