At the international industry fair transport logistic 2015 in Munich, György Wáberer, CEO of Europe's third largest road haulage, Waberer’s International Zrt., and Andreas Schmitz, Member of the Board of Management of the leading trailer manufacturer in Europe Schmitz Cargobull, signed an agreement for the purchase of further 500 new trailers. Over the past decade and a half of strong relations between the two companies, Waberer's has bought 8,000 trailers, which up until today have made up the larger part of its fleet.

"The standardised, high-quality production of Schmitz Cargobull trailers and its cost-saving technological advances aid Waberer’s International Zrt. in continually improving efficiency," explains Wáberer during the signing. He adds that long-term cooperation has created the possibility of fruitful teamwork in the area of technological developments. As an example, he cites the development of the highly flexible VARIOS Mega trailer, which has been deployed in multi-operator transport. Waberer's was one of the first companies to take delivery of the new GENIOS trailer with a chassis made from cold-rolled steel.

The latest order is part of Waberer's strategy of sales growth in Germany. The German market is the most important for Waberer's, constituting approximately 28% of its overall sales. Sales derived from customers and destinations in Germany were 10% higher year-on-year for 2014 and the data for the first quarter of 2015 seems to support this dynamic upward trend. In the past year Waberer's transported a total of two million tonnes of goods from Germany to other EU countries and vice versa through its transport and logistics services. In any given week, more than 1,200 trucks are loaded at locations throughout Germany. Waberer's vehicles cover 107 million kilometres on Germany's roads every year, for which the company pays almost €20 million in road tolls. "The combination of new logistics software and highly flexible VARIOS trailers has helped improve the efficiency of Waberer's fleet management", comments Andreas Schmitz.

The majority of freight orders transported from Hungary to Germany are for the delivery of products produced by international companies in Hungarian factories. Waberer's takes charge of deliveries from Germany to other European countries, usually for global companies in the automobile, appliances, FMCG and cosmetics industries. It primarily delivers spare auto parts, paper products, household electronics, electrical installation materials and windows from Germany to other EU countries.
