Two pavers work through the night at Indonesia’s largest airport
Two Vögele SUPER 1880 L pavers were utilized for the rehabilitation of a 3.6 km runway at Jakarta's Soekarno Hatta International Airport, working overnight using a 'hot-to-hot' method to apply four layers including base, binder, and surface layers. The project met stringent quality standards set by ICAO and FAA, demanding high precision and mix quality. The pavers are equipped with a 6-cylinder diesel engine in ECO mode, reducing costs and noise, and feature a large 15-ton material hopper for continuous paving. PT Roadmixindo Raya led the project, relying on the pavers for their effective material transfer, high pre-compaction, and surface quality, aided by the AB 500 TV extending screeds and the ErgoBasic operating system for efficient operation.
