An RPP 4000 HG asphalt mixing plant by Benninghoven (WIRTGEN Group) recently began operation near São Paulo, Brazil, marking the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. This state-of-the-art facility achieves high production volumes of 4,000 to 5,000 tonnes daily with reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) addition rates up to 100%. The plant, operated by Usicity, a subsidiary of CITYS and Turita Holding Group, emphasizes sustainable practices, reducing CO2 emissions and supporting future green hydrogen fuel use. Strategically set in Jaraguá with proximity to key infrastructure like a quarry and RAP stockpile, it demonstrates cost-effective reuse of materials and positions Brazil to embrace greener, more resource-efficient asphalt production. The development relied on a partnership between Brazilian company Ciber and Benninghoven (WIRTGEN Group), with extensive employee training laying the groundwork for its success.
