Liebherr has delivered the first ten LTM 1110-5.2 cranes featuring the new LICCON3 crane control to customers in Europe. One of them went to BKL Baukran Logistik GmbH. It has now successfully completed its first job – for building a new construction yard in Freilassing, Upper Bavaria, the 110 tonne crane with the new LICCON3 control installed concrete facade slabs carefully and with millimetre precision. The logistics market has recently acquired a new brand of forklift trucks: Bobcat. The brand is world famous for an extensive range of compact machines, which are used in construction, the agricultural sector, landscaping, demolition, recycling and many other industries. Bobcat loaders and telehandlers, which can be equipped with attachments such as buckets, grabs, bale clamps, dump hoppers and pallet forks, are often used for material handling and logistics tasks. It is therefore no surprise that products from sister company - Doosan Industrial Vehicle (DIV) - forklift trucks and warehouse equipment - are now part of the Bobcat family. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is driving forward the transformation of the transport industry towards CO2-neutral drives and is also relying on electric trucks in its own supply chain. In its anniversary year 2023, the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth is taking a decisive step towards the electrification of plant traffic: numerous logistics partners are taking delivery of around 20 battery-electric eActros 300s for use in inbound logistics. The handover of the first twelve vehicles to the logistics service providers was celebrated at the Wörth plant on December 4. From the first quarter of 2024, these vehicles will be used to carry out around 50 all-electric transports to the Wörth plant every day. Mercedes-Benz Trucks has developed the “ELA” (Electrified Logistics Accelerated) consulting service based on the expertise gained in the course of this project. The specialized ELA consultants from Mercedes-Benz Trucks support other industrial companies in the electrification of their plant logistics. Read more >>
