Zebra Technologies to sponsor 5th annual Techweek Chicago and present latest innovations in tracking devices and Internet of Things

ZEBRA IS A SPONSOR OF THE TECHWEEK CHICAGO HACKATHON

Zebra Technologies Corporation , a global leader in products and services that provide real-time visibility into organizations’ assets, people and transactions, is a presenting Bronze Sponsor of Techweek Chicago, the nation’s leading technology conference and festival that draws the top local innovators, developers and venture capitalists. Zebra will showcase the latest in its extensive portfolio of real-time tracking and visibility solutions that serve as the building blocks for the Internet of Things (IoT) and provide critical enterprise asset intelligence.

Zebra Technologies’ Adebayo Onigbanjo, director of Marketing for New Growth Platforms, will participate in the “BuiltWorlds” panel on June 25 from noon to 2pm CT, a discussion focusing on how technology impacts the infrastructure of the physical world. Onigbanjo will showcase Zebra’s revolutionary devices that help people interact with an increasingly technological environment, both on the job site and at home.

As part of the “Innovative Tech” sector of the Techweek Chicago conference, Phil Gerskovich, Zebra Technologies’ senior vice president of New Growth Platforms, will showcase how the IoT can help improve business processes, minimize risk, spur innovation and drive revenue in his talk, “IoT – Hype, Challenges, Innovation and Avatars” on June 26 from 12:45pm to 1:45pm CT.

KEY FACTS

  • Zebra is a sponsor of the Techweek 24-hour Hackathon workshop during which developers will code an entirely new application using various technologies such as the Zebra Mpact beacons. The winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000, and the team with the best use of Zebra’s platform will be awarded one DJI Phantom Aerial UAV Drone Quadcopter.

  • Zebra will be represented at the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses vendor fair at Harold Washington College on June 22 from 4:30pm to 9pm CT and at the hiring fair on June 26 from noon to 5pm CT in the Merchandise Mart.

  • Techweek Chicago runs from June 22-28 at the historical Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago and draws more than 130,000 local industry leaders, innovators, and emerging technologists.

  • Other Techweek Chicago events include panel discussions, experiential workshops, keynote addresses, startup competitions, and fireside chats. Chicago is one of five U.S. cities to host Techweek.
