Byword for ruggedness and easy maintenance
In recent decades ZF has been serving the market with high performance combine harvester drivelines for a gross vehicle weight of up to 24 tonnes. Over 70,000 drivelines have so far been fitted. Customers mainly come from Europe and South America.
The ZF series of combine harvester drivelines is available in two variants which are orientated to the maximum vehicle weight. Since early 2012 the 3MD drivelines will also be manufactured in Europe in addition to the production in Sorocaba (Brazil). In this way the growing demand from the European market is satisfied and maximum flexibility ensured for vehicle manufacturers.
The combine harvester drives are very robust and make only modest maintenance demands. They use the S-800 or S-1050 wheel drive. This is matched to the relevant vehicle weight. Depending on the type, a single-stage (S-800) or a two-stage (S-1050) wheel drive (Fig. 19) is involved. The latter is especially preferred for vehicles with a higher GVW.
All models in the 3MD series have two disc brakes, which are mounted directly on the transmission. This produces a reliable braking effect with higher operational safety independent of the relevant field of application.
