With the new STIHL MSA 300, the Waiblingen-based power tool manufacturer presents the most powerful cordless chainsaw on the market, opening up a completely new dimension, especially for sawing in noise-sensitive areas. Its applications range from selective felling, limbing and cutting to length of medium-sized trees to construction work with timber. The tool meets the high demands of professionals in gardening, landscaping, municipalities and forestry in terms of ergonomics, robustness and durability, and is unaffected by rain and wet conditions. A highlight is the electronic operating and notification cockpit with LED display. It offers the user three selectable operating modes and enables simple and safe operation of the machine. In addition, thanks to the large LED display panel, the user has all important information on the status of the chainsaw at a glance at all times. The integrated cooling air filter protects the engine and electronics and gives the machine a long service life. The MSA 300 also impresses when it comes to working comfort: its anti-vibration system reduces the transmission of vibrations and thus protects the user's strength, and tried-and-tested features such as the lateral chain tensioning and loss-proof nuts support quick chain changes. The AP 500 S battery from the STIHL AP cordless system, also a new development, is recommended for operating the MSA 300. Its innovative technology not only ensures a particularly high energy content combined with low weight, but also impresses above all with the doubling of the number of allowed charging cycles and thus a significant increase in service life compared to conventional Li-ion batteries.

Powerful plus enormous chain speed 

The new STIHL MSA 300 is currently the most powerful cordless chainsaw on the market. The maximum chain speed is 30 m/s and, with three predefined operating modes, can be optimally adapted to different sawing tasks such as selective felling, limbing and cutting to length of medium-sized trees or timber-based construction. For high cutting performance, the MSA 300 is equipped as standard with a cutting attachment consisting of the STIHL Light 04 guide bar and the STIHL .325" RS PRO saw chain. At the same time, the powerful professional cordless chainsaw impresses with its comparatively low noise emissions - the best prerequisite for use in noise-sensitive areas. 

Intuitive operation for more comfort and safety

The MSA 300 has an electronic operating and notification cockpit with LED display that enables intuitive operation of the machine. Thanks to the large LED display panel, the user also has all the information on the status of the chainsaw and the chain brake in view at all times. Additional safety is also provided by the large and raised unlock button, which is easy to reach in any working situation. 

Robust and ergonomic

The new cordless chainsaw meets the high demands that professionals in gardening and landscaping, in municipalities and in forestry have with respect to their equipment in terms of ergonomics and durability under tough operating conditions. Neither rain nor wetness will stop this machine. An integrated cooling air filter removes wood shavings and even the finest dust from the cooling air flow, thus protecting the motor and the power electronics and giving the machine a long service life. The new MSA 300 is also convincing in terms of working comfort: the slim design, excellent balance and low weight of only 5.4 kg (without battery and with cutting attachment) contribute to this advantage, as does the effective anti-vibration system. The latter noticeably reduces the transmission of vibrations and thus protects the user's strength. Features such as the lateral chain tensioning and loss-proof nuts support the quick chain change and the tool-free cap of the adhesive chain oil tank makes refueling easy.

Adjustable oil pump for chain lubrication as required

The MSA 300 is equipped with an oil pump as standard, the supply rate of which can be adjusted to the respective requirement: For example, it can be reduced to the minimum for simple delimbing work. In contrast, for demanding applications, especially felling, the maximum supply rate ensures high performance. With the MSA 300 C-O version, an LED display informs the user as soon as the chain adhesive oil level in the tank is low. 

Combined for strength - the professional chainsaw and a newly developed battery

The new STIHL AP 500 S battery has been specially developed for the operation of the MSA 300. Thanks to its innovative technology, this battery not only impresses with its particularly high energy content (337 Wh) at a low weight (2.0 kg), but also with twice the number of allowed charging cycles and thus a significant increase in service life compared to conventional Li-ion batteries. The new battery is part of the STIHL AP cordless system, which is designed for professional users and also allows use in rain and wet conditions. In addition to the new cordless professional chainsaw, it includes around 30 other tools for a wide range of applications. In addition, there are battery packs and backpack batteries with different energy levels as well as various chargers available.

Prepared for STIHL connected

The STIHL MSA 300 cordless professional chainsaw is equipped with the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A and can thus be easily integrated into the cloud-based overall solution STIHL connected. The new AP 500 S battery can as well be integrated directly into the digital fleet management system via a smartphone app. Among other things, this feature provides commercial users with a detailed overview of all relevant data on the equipment and batteries, such as operating time and age, as well as the charging status, and provides information on upcoming maintenance and the maintenance history.
