CM Labs Simulations, the leading vendor of simulation-based training solutions in the ports industry, will demonstrate how port organizations can train, assess, and scale workforce readiness across the full terminal operation at TOC Europe 2026.

Bolstered by the acquisition of GlobalSim, CM Labs will showcase its expanded Ship-to-Shore (STS) crane curriculum, its most immersive Summit Simulator, and AI-enabled instruction through the Intellia Workforce Training System. In addition, the company will demonstrate remote operations training, digital twin capabilities, and terminal operating system (TOS) integration through technology partnerships with port equipment OEMs at Hamburg Messe und Congress in Hamburg, Germany on May 19–21 at booths #E38 and #E40.

Together, these capabilities reflect CM Labs’ platform-led approach to port simulation: a scalable ecosystem that connects training, remote operations, digital twins, system integration, and performance measurement.

“Port operations are becoming more complex, and training has to keep pace across the full terminal environment, from quayside crane handling and yardside equipment movement to remote operations and AI-supported instruction,” said Lisa Barbieri, VP of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships at CM Labs. “Through our core VortexⓇ Studio technology and the Intellia Workforce Training System, CM Labs gives port organizations a unified way to train, measure, and scale workforce readiness, while supporting advanced applications such as digital twins and system integration. That is what we mean by ‘Your Port. Your Training. Your Way.’

Visitors to the CM Labs booths will experience ‘Your Port. Your Training. Your Way.’ in action through:

  • Ship-to-Shore (STS) Crane Simulation Curriculum Updates introduce significant new capabilities to CM Labs’ flagship port training product, including an embedded AI Assistant that provides voice-guided instruction during simulator sessions, After Action Review for structured post-session debriefs, Exercise Builder for custom training exercises, and enhanced vessel traffic for more realistic quayside operations.

  • Internal Transfer Vehicle (ITV) Simulation Curriculum makes its European debut at TOC, giving terminal operators a simulation-based path to train yardside equipment operators. The ITV curriculum addresses a critical gap in terminal training programs where operators have historically relied heavily on live equipment in active yards.

  • Remote Operator Station for Ship-to-Shore (ROS STS) extends CM Labs' training capabilities into remote crane operations — an area of growing demand as terminals invest in automation and centralized control. The ROS STS demonstrates how simulation can be adapted to reflect a terminal’s specific operating environment, control systems, workflows, and integration requirements. It enables operators to build precision and situational awareness before entering live remote operations.

  • CM Labs’ Summit Simulator also debuts at booth #E40, delivering CM Labs' most immersive training experience for port equipment operators. The Summit pairs a full-cab environment with CM Labs' engineering-grade simulation technology, all connected through the Intellia training system.

“The ITV and ROS STS show how CM Labs is expanding training coverage across the port operation, from quayside crane handling to yardside equipment movement and remote operation,” said Devon Van de Kletersteeg, CM Labs Ports Product Growth Manager. “Delivered by the Intellia Workforce Training System, these solutions help organizations standardize training, track performance, and scale operator readiness across equipment types and sites.”

OEM Partnerships

CM Labs will also demonstrate how its simulation technology extends beyond operator training into digital twins, equipment validation, and integrated port workflows. Partner demonstrations will include a Stinis tandem headblock spreader digital twin built on CM Labs’ physics-based simulation platform, as well as integration between CM Labs simulation and the Kaleris N4 terminal operating system.

Together, these demonstrations highlight CM Labs’ broader engineering capabilities, including high-fidelity equipment modeling, Vortex Studio-based simulation, machine control and TOS integration, and support for OEMs and port technology providers seeking to prototype, validate, and demonstrate equipment and workflows in realistic port environments.

Visitors can experience the full range of CM Labs port training solutions across both booths: the Summit Simulator running Ship-to-Shore (STS) curriculum at booth #E40, and the Remote Operator Station running ROS STS and ROS RTG at booth #E38, alongside a video wall showcasing CM Labs' engineering capabilities.
