Kardex Remstar will present new generation of storage system at LogiMAT 2016

“Being innovative – shaping change” – in keeping with the motto of LogiMAT 2016 (March 8–10), on stand 1H51 in hall 1 Kardex Remstar will be presenting its Vertical Buffer Module storage and retrieval innovation. The new design meets the trend for continuing automation and individualization. With practical applications Kardex Remstar will be demonstrating how companies that stock a wide range of products can benefit from the innovative storage and order picking solution.

Among the typical usage examples, Kardex Remstar will be showing how assembly areas can be efficiently supplied with components. To ensure a process that continuously flows, the buffer solution guarantees just-in-time delivery of ready-picked component sets to the assembly workstations. “The new Vertical Buffer Module storage system generation is our response to the manufacturing industry’s call for intelligent material flow automation, greater flexibility, and better management of a wide range of products,” explains Reinhold Schäffler, product manager at Kardex Remstar.

High order picking performance

The innovation is a solution for picking small parts from bins, cardboard boxes, and trays. It represents a fundamental new development from Kardex Remstar and consists of a shelf system with automatic bin handling, picking stations, and special logistics software. Compared to commonly available storage systems, such as a mini-load system, the investment costs, order picking performance, and energy efficiency of the Vertical Buffer Module make it especially appealing.
