Emergency power for sports facilities

The Republic of Malta, in southern Europe, is home to one of the best sport shooting ranges, which is playing host to the ISSF Shotgun World Cup, one of the most important international events in shooting. HIMOINSA, through its local distributor United Equipment Co., supplied the new Ta ‘Kandja sport shooting range with a soundproofed HFW-500 T5 generator set, which supplies 500 kVA of Standby power and has an FPT engine and automatic transfer switch.

Longer running time

The generator set is ready to supply continuous power for eight hours non-stop in the event of a power outage. To do this, the generator incorporates a large-capacity fuel tank, guaranteeing a longer running time.

The generator set is ready to power the shooting range's lighting as well as its innovative hydraulic system designed to recover and recycle spent pellets, thus preventing the water used from contaminating groundwater.

In 2015, Malta connected to the European grid via the Malta-Sicily interconnector, a 59-mile submarine cable with the capacity to supply 200 MW and which runs on 200 KW of high-voltage alternating current.

Although this secondary source supports the 537.8 MW generated by the local gas-powered power plant, generator sets are still necessary for infrastructure that requires a reliable and immediate response, such as hospitals, data centers and hotels, as well as for holding major events.
