Fassi Gru is the co-sponsor of the Schwabentruck Team IVECO which, together with the German champion Steffi Halm and her compatriot Gerd Körber at the wheels of their IVECO Stralis trucks of over 1,000 hp, will aim to win the European title. The first of the eight scheduled tests will take place on the Misano Adriatico circuit.
The first race is scheduled for 26th and 27th May at the Misano Word Circuit named after Marco Simoncelli. Eight races will determine who will be the protagonists of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2018 this year. As co-sponsor, Fassi Gru will be alongside the German Schwabentruck team, who are making no secret of their ambitions.
The two 5.3-tonne IVECO Stralis 440E56 XP-Rs are powered by IVECO Cursor 13 engines capable of delivering 1,180 hp at 160 km/h, the maximum speed allowed by the race rules. Two champions will be at the wheel: the German Steffi Halm, the only woman in the race who, after narrowly missing out on the podium last year, aims in 2018 to be among the leading drivers. No less fierce is her compatriot Gerd Körber, already three times European champion in 1996, 2001 and 2003, who is determined to bring his Stralis permanently into the top rankings.
After the Italian race, the championship will continue in Hungary, at the Hungaroring circuit, in June; while there are two events in July: the legendary German circuit of Nurburgring and the Slovakian Slovakia Ring. There will be three stages in September: in the Czech Republic in Most, in Belgium in Zolder and then in France in Le Mans. The season will finish in Spain, in October, at the Jarama circuit.
In Misano, Fassi Gru will be exhibiting an IVECO Daily equipped with a Fassi F32A crane and tipping body, the fruit of collaboration between the Fassi Emilia dealer and the IVECO Dealer in Bologna Ghedauto. To emphasize Fassi Gru’s presence, a spectacular demo vehicle will soon be on show at later events: a four-axle IVECO Stralis X-WAY equipped with a heavy-duty range crane.
