FELLA's trailed disc mower with centrally linked drawbar SM 3065 Trans and SM 3575 Trans – the clever solution for mowing large areas

Right on time for the next green fodder harvesting season, FELLA is launching its trailed mower with transport chassis and centrally linked drawbar. The SM 3065 Trans with a working width of 3.00 m and the SM 3575 Trans with a working width of 3.50 m are both available as a variant with roller or tine-rotor conditioner.

Because the drawbar is linked centrally, the mower can be easily swung to the left and right behind the tractor. As a result, the farmer can mow with flexibility according to the particular surface and his own requirements. This is effortlessly possible even with forage lying on the ground, on sloping terrain and for contour line work.

A particular feature is the high lifting height of the new trailed mower at the headland of 600 mm, which is made possible by actively lifting the transport wheels. The resulting enormous ground clearance is perfectly suited for travelling effortlessly over mowed swathes.

The generous freedom of movement of the mower unit in working position of up to 400 mm can be relied on to prevent the mower unit from contacting the ground and digging into the sward, including even on closely undulating terrain.

The trailed hitch attachment of the SM 3065 Trans/SM 3575 Trans ensures excellent ground adaptation as well as ground-conserving and fuel-saving mowing.

For the user, the new mower offers not only a sturdy and attractive design and excellent trailing behaviour both on and off road but also an extremely high level of operator convenience, which consists of a variety of details:

The protective hoods can be folded up, which makes the cutter bar conveniently and easily accessible and the infinitely variable cutting-height adjustment, which requires no tools, enables rapid and optimum adjustment of the cutting height for an extremely wide variety of working conditions. Power is transmitted by a robust pivoting gearbox, which puts less strain on the drive shaft even in sharp bends and, as a result, the shaft has the lowest possible level of wear. The tool box is integrated in the drawbar and ideally suited for storing tools and spare parts, so that costly downtimes can be avoided.

The mower variant with roller conditioner, which is especially suitable for the low-impact conditioning of leafy forage, ensures an excellent conditioning effect even where large volumes of forage are involved. With the variant with tine-rotor conditioner, the possibility of adjusting the conditioning intensity in five positions without the use of tools ensures an extremely high level of flexibility in the most varied of weather conditions.

The SM 3065 Trans / SM 3575 Trans is fitted with FELLA's driveGUARD overload protection as standard equipment. This provides the farmer with optimum protection for his disc mower in the event of damage. Thanks to a simple, yet ingenious element, costly damage on and in the cutter bar is prevented, long downtimes are avoided and it becomes possible to replace driveGUARD at a low cost.
