Great enlargement of RotoTop-range: Holp offers more productivity for excavators with working weight up to 45 tons

Holp GmbH has enlarged the series of its successful RotoTop to the smaller as well as to the bigger. Now, significant increasement of performance thanks to rotary drives in 11 sizes is available for working weight from 600 kg up to 45 tons.

Since many years it became more and more difficult in many sectors as construction or landscaping to get enough skilled professionals. These days, it is more important than ever to let well equipped machines as much work as possible, to closely select work for employees and save them from unnecessary hard manual work. At the same time, the actual critical situation with a lot of price increases and high fuel costs makes it more crucial than before to get work on sites done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Easy operating for all machine users

Within the last 10 years the rotary drive has convinced not only business owners but also lots of machine operators who learned the intuitively understandable operating of the “wrist of the excavator” in the meantime literally by heart and don’t want to work without a Rototop anymore. This is why the enlargement towards smaller models has already been presented at the Galabau fair. Now, for the bauma show, the model RT.301 HD for excavators from 29 up to 36 tons as well as the RT.301 HD+ for machines between 35 and 45 tons are shown to the public for the first time. Like that, Holp offers a large range of their RotoTop with 11 different models, which makes it a unique gradation in the market and ensures that the perfectly fitting rotary drive is available in each excavator weight class.

Increase of performance within many sectors

With the help of RotoTop excavators achieve a 360° endless rotation and, in combination with kinematics of the excavator, is able to perform a real 3-D-movement, whereas working with a tilt sticks to a 2-D-dimension due to the 60°-90° sidelong movement. With the help of the rotary drive the movements of the excavator are similar to those of an experienced worker, who goes easy on his resources and therefore follows optimized schemes of movements. Additionally, the excavator must be moved less, which also helps to save fuel. Very high increasements of performance are possible, e.g., as a maximum of digging forces is achieved by combining RotoTop and back-hoe dredger or when embankments are drawn in an exact way and at the same time a higher performance of 10 to 50 percent.

This agility and increase of efficiency are now also available for excavators in the 30-ton-class which offers a lot of advantages on the site: As the machines are much more versatile there is no need for a second (smaller) machine on site to take over work at hardly accessible areas, like it used to be before quite often. As well, it is possible for the co-worker of the machinist to take over other tasks, because the excavator is now able to take over more meticulous work like digging below pipes, open the ground above tubes or fill in material. Like that entrepreneurs will not only gain a raise in productivity, but also more security for their employees, because difficult situations can be avoided once less manual work is required.

There are some more advantages when it comes to tough tasks like demolition: the combination of RotoTop and MultiGrip on a bigger excavator is able to demount and sort very large and unhandy parts. While using a milling machine with the RotoTop the excavator can perform demanding and long-running work in mining or building of tunnels: Thanks to the 8-way rotary joint, which makes sure to transport the sufficient amount of oil to the attachment to avoid any thermic problems.
