Less effort and greater efficiency in landscaping and gardening

The guiding principle at Holp is that any new attachment must deliver at least a 25 percent increase in performance when used on-site – if this is not sure, they will not construct it. Holp’s best-known innovation, the RotoTop, enables all attachments to rotate continuously and gives much more flexibility to the excavator, which needs to be repositioned less frequently. At the same time, manual labour is significantly reduced. Such great increases in productivity are particularly evident in landscaping. Günter Holp says, “From our point of view, a 50 percent increase with the help of the RotoTop is no problem; some of our landscaping clients even say they need one employee less in the team or can achieve productivity gains of up to three times the original level.” As the RotoTop is designed to be exceptionally durable and can be refurbished for a second excavator life at around 20 percent of the original purchase cost, the medium-sized model results in an investment of just €1.50 per operating hour calculated over the whole product life.

If even greater freedom of movement is required for specialized tasks, Holp offers the RotoX – a highly robust, compact, and powerful tiltrotator that has no protruding parts and allows swivel angles of up to 2 x 90°. Thanks to the modular system, it is also possible to have a RotoTop converted into a RotoX. According to German entrepreneur Hans-Peter Bay, the RotoX offers even more advantages: “The RotoX gives me the best view of the work area because there is no cylinder in the way. What’s more, thanks to its large rotary joints, it delivers a high flow rate, ensuring that every attachment is always supplied with enough oil.”

New: SafetyFork is now ready for series production

The newest product from Holp, the SafetyFork, is a gravity-stabilized pallet fork for excavators and other carrier machines with an operating weight of 5 to 10 tonnes. It has been developed to make the transport of palletized loads in the gardening and landscaping sector safer, more controllable, and more practical, while at the same time protecting Euro pallets. Surveys have shown that most Euro pallets are damaged after being transported using rigid forks.

Unlike rigid pallet forks, the SafetyFork is suspended in a pendulum-like manner; the pendulum motion is balanced by a universal joint with two axes, allowing the fork to self-align under the influence of gravity – much like a load on a crane. Jerky movements of the excavator boom, swivelling impulses, and vibrations when traveling over uneven terrain are not rigidly transmitted to the load. This leads to smoother load handling and significantly reduces the risk of the load slipping or being lost compared with the well-known rigid pallet forks; furthermore, it avoids unnecessary costs caused by damaged pallets.

The SafetyFork, which can be used with various rigid quick-change couplers, rotators, or tiltrotators, has a load capacity of 2,000 kg and weighs approximately 220 kg without the quick-change coupler plate.

Other attachments, such as the CutWheel, the VarioLöffel, and the BankettLöffel, will also be on display at the trade fair. All these attachments boost productivity on sites in landscaping and gardening, reduce manual labour and thus cut costs and shorten project duration.
