HARDI TWIN FORCE 32 – 36 m

HARDI has the big TWIN FORCE booms with 32 to 36 m renewed. A lot of changes has been done to increase in reliability and to have a better integration of modern application tools as boom management systems and electronic single nozzle on/off.

In this project the main focus was on a higher reliability, also for rough working conditions outside Europe. There are several reinforcements done on the whole boom, from the center section out to the last nozzle. A new folding mechanism has been implemented between the inner steel section and the outer aluminium section. There are new protections for the airbag on different spots done.

Updated AutoHeight

The boom management system AutoHeight has been updated, the new software improves the boom behaviour also under difficult field conditions significant.

The new boom generation is now far stronger and allows a better application also under challenging conditions.

HARDI TWIN – more than 25 years of experience and success

In 2014, HARDI has celebrated the 25 year’s anniversary of the ultimate HARDI TWIN system. HARDI TWIN is a unique, active air assistant spraying system which gives the user the change of high capacity plant protection in combination with optimum use of chemicals.

The TWIN system has been optimized and extended over those 25 years. Focus was always on a maximum field work rate and an excellent guidance of the plant protection chemicals towards the spray target. This unique system has been tested and approved by farmers and research institutes worldwide as an application technique which can be used with fine spray droplets, being the best to achieve a good coverage, also in difficult weather conditions and at high driving speeds.

HARDI TWIN is the optimum spraying concept. By guiding the spray drops with air, drift is avoided! With the unique angling of the spray swath together with the air curtain up to 40° forward and 30° backward, the coverage and penetration into the canopy can be significantly increased.

TWIN FORCE - a success story

Today, more than 70% of the HARDI self-propelled ALPHA sprayers and more than 35 % of the COMMANDER trailed sprayers are delivered with the powerful TWIN FORCE system. Boom sizes from 18 to 36 m and tank sizes from 2500 to 7000 l are available.

Maximum capacity

With HARDI TWIN, the water volume rate can be reduced to half of the conventional volume rate. This means less water haul and less filling time. Also the driving speed can easily be increased by 50 %, because the risk of drift increase is minimized by the active air, and the spraying time per day can be extended in most areas because in windy conditions, TWIN also gives an excellent cross distribution. Practical results show an increase in capacity of up to 100 %.

Chemical savings

Due to the fact that more ha/h can be sprayed, TWIN users have a better timing, which reduces the amount of needed chemical doses, also the better coverage and a higher on target dose give a far higher action of the chemicals. Depending on crops, farmers save between 5 and 30 % of their chemical cost - an enormous financial advantage and a plus in the environmental discussion.
