Native, intuitive and advanced management: the new CEM8, CEA8 and CEC8 control units guarantee optimal performance and easy installation, programming and commissioning thanks to their user-friendly interface.
HIMOINSA, a global manufacturer of Power Technology Solutions, has launched its new CE8 family of control systems, comprising the CEM8, CEA8 and CEC8 models, with the aim of offering increasingly intelligent and connected solutions for the management of generator sets. This innovative development not only expands its portfolio of generator set control units, but is also part of a broader digitalisation and connectivity strategy to create a cloud-based communication circuit capable of linking equipment within a fleet and enabling remote management.
In keeping with the company's objective to develop increasingly intelligent solutions that enable its customers to grow their businesses and improve their user experience, the new CE8 family of generator set control units follows on from the launch of the CET8 control unit for its lighting towers and HICORE for its battery energy storage systems (EHR).
The CEM8 control system for mobile and stationary generator sets, the CEA8 model, mainly for generators requiring automatic response, and the CEC8 model, to be installed in external switchboards, have been designed to optimise equipment operation and maximise the user experience thanks to their native IoT connectivity capabilities and their integration with HG platforms, offering a 360 solution for remote monitoring and control of the equipment fleet.
Connectivity and Cloud Services Programme | Neuron
The company has a specialised team of engineers dedicated to the development of hardware, software and firmware for the design of control systems for its generator sets, lighting towers and battery energy storage systems. With the aim of creating an intelligent connectivity ecosystem, it has also created a new position, that of Director of Connectivity Programmes and Cloud Services. The new director will implement a management platform that enables remote monitoring, control and maintenance of its products. The platform provides real-time monitoring of critical parameters, automatic alerts in the event of a failure and tools for proactive maintenance planning, all with the aim of maximising operational efficiency and minimising downtime. It also generates advanced reporting and data analysis capabilities, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring that generator sets perform at optimal levels in every location. The HIMOINSA connectivity map is powered by NEURON, which integrates all communication flows and even makes it possible to share machine operation and performance data with external customer platforms via APIs.
"CE8 control units are not only an advanced generator set management system, but also the key to enabling full connectivity within HIMOINSA's digital ecosystem. Their integration with 'NEURON' and HG Suite platforms allows the interconnection of equipment within a fleet, ensuring a constant flow of data in the cloud to optimise their operability. Through this communication circuit, HIMOINSA equipment can even interact with other third-party platforms that our customers have previously integrated", says Celso Sánchez, Director of Connectivity Programmes and Cloud Systems.
CE8: The gateway to an smart connectivity ecosystem
The CE8 is undoubtedly the gateway to this new era of digitalisation and connectivity, where remote monitoring and control ensure optimum performance and increased profitability for operators.
The new CEM8, CEA8 and CEC8 controllers have been designed to adapt to the complete portfolio of HIMOINSA generator sets and are compatible with both diesel and gas engines, regardless of whether they have electronic or mechanical systems.
This native control unit has been developed specifically for power generation, with optimised navigation to ensure optimum performance. Thanks to its native design, installation, programming and commissioning are quick and easy, saving time and resources. Every function, line of code and interface has been designed to respond efficiently to the needs of the energy sector, providing a seamless user experience tailored to market requirements.
Key features include:
-
Programmable PLC, providing the user with extensive operational and management advantages, as well as the ability to program in five different languages, thereby improving the adaptability and customisation of the system.
-
Advanced and remote real-time management of operating parameters to maximise generator set efficiency. The new controllers allow remote access to the software of each control panel, facilitating the configuration of the desired parameters in real time and optimising operation according to the needs of each application.
-
Intuitive and user-friendly interface, designed to facilitate user interaction and enhance the user experience.
-
Native integration with HG Suite, enabling efficient remote monitoring and control from PC or mobile devices.
-
Safety systems and alarms, minimising downtime and ensuring constant monitoring, rapid response to any eventuality and efficient and safer operation.
-
Compliance with international standards, ensuring safe and certified operation. EN IEC 62311 (communication network) / EN 61010-1 (electrical safety) / EN 61326-1 (electromagnetic compatibility) / EN 60529 (sealing). Prepared for CRA (Cyber Resilience) compliance.
-
Integrated USB, CAN, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RS485, SNMP and modem communication for mobile connectivity.
In this way, HIMOINSA has reinforced its commitment to the constant development of power solutions.
Control systems play a fundamental role in each of the company's new product developments, with the aim of guaranteeing 100% of the connected machines, as demonstrated in recent years with the development of innovative control units such as HICORE for the EHR, or the CET8 controller for the new line of lighting towers, and now the complete CE8 family for the HIMOINSA generator set product line. All of them are set to play a key role in the connectivity and cloud services roadmap the company is working on.
