HIMOINSA, an international leader in the design and manufacture of energy technology solutions and part of Yanmar Energy Systems, announces the opening of a new subsidiary in New Zealand. Based in Auckland, this new operation strengthens its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and brings the total number of subsidiaries worldwide to 16.
HIMOINSA operates in Asia through its production centre in China and several sales offices. It operates via HIMOINSA APAC, based in Singapore, and HIMOINSA Australia, based in Sydney with offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. The Auckland subsidiary now joins this structure, consolidating the company’s presence in New Zealand, where it has been active since 1999 through its distribution network. This move will enable the company to develop new business opportunities and strengthen its proximity to and support for local customers.
“We have been present in New Zealand since 1999, and the launch of our own subsidiary enables us to take a further step in the development of this market. We want to be closer to our customers, strengthen local support, and offer solutions tailored to the needs of each application. This expansion, together with our operations in China, Singapore and Australia, strengthens our ability to serve the Asia-Pacific markets,” says Marco Perillo, Regional Head of HIMOINSA Asia Pacific.

Its commercial development also includes pursuing opportunities in the Pacific Islands, expanding the scope of operations from New Zealand.
Grant Cooper will head the new subsidiary as General Manager; he is a professional with nearly 30 years’ experience in the New Zealand market for the sale and hire of generator sets. His career has spanned technical, commercial and managerial roles, providing him with extensive knowledge of the local market and of customers’ needs across various applications.

HIMOINSA New Zealand will offer power generation solutions for main supply, backup and temporary generation applications in sectors such as hire, construction, agriculture, infrastructure, data centres, telecommunications and healthcare, as well as mining, industry, the solar market, events and audiovisual production.
The new subsidiary will combine HIMOINSA’s product portfolio and technological capabilities with local market knowledge to meet the requirements of each project.
