HOLMER introduces the Terra Dos 5 High Performance sugar beet harvester equipped with a powerful 597 kW Caterpillar C18 ACERT engine.
-
The machine offers superior throughput and productivity, especially in demanding terrains and heavy soils.
-
Its simplified emissions system meets strict standards without requiring SCR or AdBlue, reducing maintenance and enhancing reliability.
-
Developed with Zeppelin Power Systems, this model combines robust Caterpillar technology with low operating costs for maximum harvesting efficiency.
At SugarBeet Expo 2026, HOLMER is introducing the Terra Dos 5 High Performance, a new configuration designed to deliver maximum harvesting capacity and throughput.
At the heart of the new model is the Caterpillar C18 ACERT six-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 18.2 liters. Delivering an output of 597 kW (812 hp), the Terra Dos 5 High Performance is the most powerful sugar beet harvester in the world, setting new benchmarks in throughput, productivity, and operating efficiency. Compared with the standard Mercedes-Benz engine option, the new powertrain significantly increases field performance, particularly when combined with the unique 12-row harvesting unit from HOLMER, the only one of its kind on the market.
The additional engine power demonstrates its full potential under demanding operating conditions, including hilly terrain, heavy soils, and while unloading on the move.

Another major advantage of the new engine concept is its practical emissions technology. Apart from a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), the Terra Dos 5 High Performance does not require complex exhaust aftertreatment systems. By eliminating components such as SCR systems, AdBlue technology, as well as extensive sensors and control units, the technical complexity of the machine is significantly reduced while still fully complying with EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards.
This provides operators with several key benefits:
-
No AdBlue consumption
-
Reduced maintenance and repair costs
-
Maximum operational reliability due to fewer failure-prone components
-
Simplified service and maintenance
The Caterpillar C18 engine has earned an outstanding reputation worldwide in the construction and industrial sectors. It is renowned for its robustness, durability, and high reliability under continuous full-load operation. Customers also benefit from Caterpillar's global service network, which offers excellent parts availability and professional on-site support.
The Terra Dos 5 High Performance was developed together with Zeppelin Power Systems, one of the world's largest Caterpillar dealers, specifically for HOLMER customers seeking maximum harvesting productivity combined with low operating costs. The new variant expands the Terra Dos 5 HD product range with a model engineered for maximum performance reserves and proven, robust technology.
