Insulated steel half-pipe tipper on show at IAA

A total of five trailers will be presented by Langendorf at the forthcoming IAA trade show in Hanover, Germany. Four of them are on stand E06 in Hall 27 and one Flexliner in the outside exhibition area T13.

Langendorf will showcase its ISOXX insulated tipper range at Hanover, with a SKS-HS 24-7.5 tipper trailer offering a load capacity of 24 m³ and equipped with BPW disc brake axles. The model on display offers an ultra-competitive payload, thanks to its unladen weight of less than 6,300 kg.

Key features of the trailer’s specification include a lifting front axle, an electro-pneumatic paver brake with automatic lifting and automatic lowering when tipping, plus RSS (Roll Stability Support) to complement the equipment on the chassis.

The steel half-pipe is insulated according to the German asphalt regulation. A 50 mm thick insulation between the inner and outer walls ensures excellent insulation values. All preparations for the subsequent installation of a temperature monitoring system are made – making retrofitting possible at any time and without any problems in the future.

The thickness of the front wall, made of high-strength fine corn steel, is 4 mm at the inside and outside. Steps mounted on both sides enable easy access into and out of the tipper body.

The side and rear walls are manufactured from 4 mm thick original HARDOX HB 450 in the inner area, whilst the floor is 5 mm thick. The weight-saving aluminium outer sheet is continuously 1 mm thick, increasing to 3mm for the rear wall.

The tailgate is inclined by 15° and is pendulum suspended at the top. It is locked automatically via two tie rods. The necessary tarpaulin for load securing is designed as an electric sliding roof system. Thanks to a corresponding canopy, the loading area can be completely opened, for ease of loading, unloading and cleaning.

The sliding roof is operated conveniently via radio remote control. A low pressure front wall press ensures the high tipping angle of more than 52°. A compressed air manometer for on-board weighing, a ladder, brush and a shovel holder on the control platform contribute to the comprehensive specification of this trailer.

The half-pipe steel tipper is designed for the toughest of transport challenges and is therefore not limited to transporting purely asphalt.

For trailers with a steel tipping box body, Langendorf exclusively uses original HARDOX HB 450. The sheet thickness varies depending on the customer’s individual requirements.
